I love spiky starburst shapes, so I attempted a version of the traditional Polish porcupine ball. Here's how to make this cool 3D ornament—great for Christmas or decorating any time. I can imagine jumbo sized versions hanging at parties or weddings. They take awhile, though, so you'd better start making them five years before you plan to get married. You'll need: Paper, scissors, a circular object for a template, a ruler, pencil, needle, thread, rubber band, and glue. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Paper Flower Roundup As promised, here is a roundup from around the web of some gorgeous paper flowers! All of these would be great for weddings, home decor or a gift for your special someone this Valentine's Day! Above you will see a rose that I made thanks to a great tutorial and template from Ellinee. I tried several roses, I will post more photos of mine at the bottom of this post, and I can say that regular copy paper (or paper of a similar weight) is easiest for these, though you can also make them with card stock and vellum without too much trouble. The rose template even comes in several colors so you could print it out onto white copy paper and get a variety of colors! Of course, no paper flower roundup is going to be complete without mention of my own tutorials! My favorite of my own tutorials was, of course, my paper calla lilies. If crepe paper is more your style, there are a multitude of varieties available with tutorials from Martha Stewart Weddings. Are you into quilling?

How to Tie a Quilt Tutorial - Quilting Tutorial from ConnectingThreads.com Nine Patch Lesson 3 There are many ways to "quilt" your quilt. By quilt, we mean how all three layers are secured together. We define a quilt as a top, a batting and a backing, joined together in some way to make the layers hold together without wearing. At the end of this tutorial, we've listed other, more advanced methods. Tools and materials you'll need for this tutorial: Removable tape, like painters tape. Here we go! Layering the quilt. Lay the backing on a flat surface, right side down. If you opted for the adhesive spray, use it now to spray a very light coating on the wrong side of the backing. Now lay the batting on top of the wrong side of the backing. If you opted for the adhesive spray, use it now to spray a very light coating on the top of the batting. Lay the quilt top, wrong side down, on the batting. The edges of your quilt layers should look like this: Time to pin baste. Using the basting or safety pins, place a pin through all three layers, keeping the bottom layer taped.

Make an awesome Harry Potter wand from a sheet of paper and glue gun glue Now that Harry Potter fever is upon us once more, I thought you would like to have a go at making some really nice Harry Potter Wands. This is such a simple but effective instructable. With a sheet of paper, some glue and a bit of paint, and about 40 minutes to spare this instructable will show you how you can make a Harry Potter type wand that would not look out of place in the film itself. I designed it and I have already made a load for my kids, even my girlfriend and her 18 year old daughter and her boyfriend wanted one each! For the frist few stages I have drawn pictures of what you have to do and then for the painting part I have taken photos to show you exactly what to do. It's very simple but the effect is fantastic.
