First, you’ll learn to create some simple symbols then using the 3D Extrude&Bevel effect you’ll create the rough cube shape. Next, using basic tools, effect and options you will reach the final result. Difficulty: Intermediate-Advanced Estimated Completion Time: 1 hour 45 minutes Number of Steps: 36 This is what you’ll be creating: Step 01 Create a 700 by 700px, RGB document and grab the Type Tool(T). Step 02 Pick the Rectangle Tool(M) and click on your artboard. Step 03 Select the shape created in the previous step and go to Effect > 3D > Extrude&Bevel. Step 04 Reselect the cube created in the previous step, open the 3D effect from the Appearance panel and click on the Map Art button. Step 05 Reselect the cube and go to Object > Expand Appearance. In this tutorial, we'll create a stylized fractal design using only Photoshop. Let's take a look at the image we'll be creating. Wikipedia define fractals as "a rough or fragmented geometric shape that can be split into parts, each of which is (at least approximately) a reduced-size copy of the whole." So, let's get it started. Now here's the only shape you'll draw: a circle, yes I'm not kidding, everything starts from a single circle. Let's add some depth and volume to our shape. Now duplicate the circle layer by dragging the shape while pressing the Alt key, then merge the circle copy with a new blank layer to keep the style proportional.

Formatting Typography and the Use of Styles in Adobe InDesign After working for a couple agencies as an Art Director, I noticed many entry level designers and old pros alike still use InDesign very inefficiently when it comes to typography and formatting. This tutorial will cover the formatting of type within Adobe Indesign using their wonderful paragraph and character styles feature. This tutorial assumes you already know some of the basics of InDesign, but I will cover some of the basics quickly for new users. We'll look at paragraph styles first, and then learn about character styles. Let's get started! The final styles we will be working with throughout this tutorial are shown below. Create a new one page document with half inch margins to begin with. You should now have a 8.5 inch by 11 inch document with half inch margins, giving you a 7.5 inch by 10 inch live area to work with. Using the Type Tool, lets create a 7.5 inch by 10 inch type box.
