Quilting – Patterns, patchworks and projects How to make gift bags from newspaper When I bought something at a store recently, the clerk handed me my purchase in a bag made from a newspaper. I liked it very much and had to make some more—thus today's DIY recycled newspaper project: gift bags made from the Wall Street Journal. You can vary the dimensions, of course, but here's what I used to create a bag that's 5" tall, 4.5" wide, and 3" deep. Stack two sheets of newspaper on top of each other. This will be a two-ply bag for extra sturdiness. Cut out a rectangle that's 15.5" wide and 8.25" tall. Fold a flap 1.25" down from the top. Cut two pieces of cardstock or chipboard to 4.25" x 1", then glue them on the widest two panels just under the top fold. Put glue on the outside of the 0.5" tab and bring the left-most panel over to form the body of the bag, aligning the cut edge of the panel with the folded edge of the flap. Upend the bag so the 2" flap is now up. Put glue on both flaps and fold them inward to form the bottom of the bag.

9 Cool Things to Do With Old Books & Written Word - StumbleUpon Bibliophiles and bookworms, English majors and lovers of literature: is it possible to have too many books? They accumulate so quickly! Every member of your family getting you the same three books you requested for Christmas. Seeing Don DeLillo marked half-off, knowing you dumped a half-caff latte on your copy of Underworld, and – even though only the first three pages are illegible – justifying its purchase. 15+ years of required reading lists stored in boxes in your basement, even though you can bet your bippy you will never willingly read the poetry of Robert Burns again. We are up to our waists in books, some of which we hate (really Master Burns? Scottish dialect? Update: Do to the overwhelming support (HA!) 1. It brings a whole new meaning to “audio book.” Use your old books to showcase your artistic side. Good for hiding passwords and codes, the key to your safe, and family jewels. 2. Your choice of ribbon can transform this wreath so it is suitable for every holiday – or every day!

Altered Metal and Tattered Angels - Wild Wyoming Art Cafe' Metal is such a perfect medium for Tattered Angels paint products! I love the way the paints ooze, drip and pool in and around the metal. I have three projects that are featured on the Tattered Angels Blog today! I can't really say which is my favorite, but this Saw Blade Clock as to be the most unique of the three. I used these Tattered Angels products on the Saw Blade Clock: Chalkboard Mist - Inch Worm, Glam - Chandelier on the actual saw blades, and Dirty Martini; Glaze - Icicle andAll That Jazz on the metal embellishments. I used 2 used saw blades I got from my darling husband, bottlecaps, glass globs, seed beeds and a washer. My next project is a Metal Mini Album. I used Tattered Angels Glam - Chandelier and Glaze - All that Jazz and Penny Loafer. All That Jazz Glaze really finds it's way into all the de-bossed areas of the copper metal foil. The last project I have for you today is a Metal Butterfly Night Light. The Butterfly is Spellbinders S5-051 Fanciful Flight. Holly

Drink Can Tinwork Tinwork Embossed tinwork is sometimes used to decorate rustic style photo or mirror frames, or just to make decorative items such as Christmas tree decorations. The metal used is usually thicker (tinplate) and is normally worked with hammered tools - I wanted to try to get a similar effect, but with a bit less effort. The Most Popular ArticleOn Atomic Shrimp No, really! More Metalwork If this project interested you, you might also like Lost Wax Casting Safety This project makes use of very thin sheet metal that is likely to have sharp, jagged edges and is prone to springing back. Great care should be taken to avoid injury. This project probably isn't suitable for children - and certainly not without supervision. Updated Autumn 2010 - now with Video Goodness! Please note: Before, during or after the video, the player may display advertisements or links to additional videos - these are not affiliated to Atomic Shrimp and the selection is something over which I have no control. recycling socks: sewing doll tutorial Make a doll is not difficult, need an hour – a half. For the work you need: a piece of stretchable fabric 10 / 15 cm, scissors, spool of thread in color, medium length needle and a filler (holofayber). A piece of knitting along and add up the paving machine stitch. In the photo I just put a dark thread in a place proshiva to be seen. Turns blank and is already on top makes a small line, how would lengthen legs. Fill billets holofayberom. Now you got a doll zagotovochka. Yes, the crown sews by hand, like this (to collect on a path with small stitches and pull). Separate the head, dragging a thread in a certain place. Pivoted to the doll to her back and make the ass. I note that after fixing the thread I did not tear off and move on to the next operation by broaching inside the trunk. Pivoted to the doll to his face and make utjazhki at chest level. Threaded anchoring and set point in the following places. Side view, you can see all three points. Similarly, do utjazhki other hand. Side view.
