I purchased my two Little Snitch license keys precisely because I object to applications that phone home behind my back. I have nothing against the practice of "phoning home" per se, as long as the developer is upfront about what information is transmitted and why. What I really can't stand is developers who either say nothing about it, or force you to agree to some nebulous, unspecific measures they have put in place to guard against piracy. Such developers are essentially attempting to defend their own rights by disregarding the rights of their paying customers. There's a word for this: hypocrisy.
