Collaboration Grants | European Cultural Foundation Over the past 60 years, we have brought together ideas, knowledge and experience to maximise the impact of culture across wider Europe, both through our activities and through our grants programmes. Our goal is to support and bring new ideas and inspired visions to diverse audiences across different countries in Europe and beyond. The 2013 call for Collaboration Grants was aligned with our strategic focus for the next four years – Connecting Culture, Communities and Democracy. We supported projects (12 collaboration grants from Greece to Latvia) that – by working transnationally and cross-sectorally – present a fresh and more sustainable picture of Europe. Between now and 2016, we will work through a networked approach, aiming to connect local cultural change-makers, raising awareness of their creative potential to generate new social, environmental, economic and democratic models through their cultural practices.

Cultural Participation Fund 2013-2016 The arts and culture are for everyone. Between 2013 and 2016, the Dutch government intends to slash the arts and culture budget by € 200 million. Three programmes During the 2013-2016 subsidy period, we are concentrating on three programmes: (1) arts and cultural education at school (learning & learning by doing), (2) extra-curricular involvement in the amateur arts (participation & development), and (3) encouraging talented youngsters to follow professional arts training. Young Creative Entrepreneur Programme | Creative Entrepreneurship The Young Creative Entrepreneur (YCE) programme IDENTIFIES and CONNECTS a global group of emerging creative pioneers, founders and innovators. We look for people who have been in business 2 - 7 years and who are making an impact through NEW IDEAS and NEW BUSINESS MODELS and inspiring others around them through their work. Our alumni are global innovators, pioneers and leaders Since 2004, we're been selecting the “ones to watch” from creative sectors around the world and bringing them together in the UK to share ideas, insight and spark off international collaborations. In 2014 we are growing our network with new YCEs from DIGITAL PUBLISHING, LIVE MUSIC, CULTURE, BROADCAST and FASHION/ DESIGN. Some of our most inspiring alumni include: Ridwan Kamil, winner of Indonesian YCE in 2004, in 2013 elected Mayor of Bandung. Dana Kleinert won the Slovakian YCE in 2011 and went on to form the first Slovak Fashion Council.

Every year, we issue an open call to cultural organisations and individual change-makers to submit innovative ideas to address Europe-wide issues. Following the Idea Camp, the 50 Idea Makers are invited to submit a proposal for up to 10,000 Euros for an R&D project. The Balkans Arts and Culture Fund supports regional, collaborative artistic and cultural projects in the Western Balkans region.

About the Hippocrene Foundation The Hippocrene Foundation is a state-approved independent family foundation whose main purpose is "to Live Europe" by developing stronger connections between young Europeans. Supporting projects: The Foundation provides financial support to non-profit projects in various domains: culture and education as well as humanitarian and social action. The Foundation has chosen to minimize its operating costs so that more than 75% of its budget may be devoted to grants. Its assets come both from the returns on its own capital and from donations by individuals or companies. Creating networks: Complementarily, the Hippocrene Foundation fosters meetings between young Europeans from different networks and backgrounds.
