14th April 2014: Canon SX700 HS review - 30x super-zoom! The PowerShot SX700 HS is Canon’s flagship pocket super-zoom for 2014. Successor to last year’s SX280 HS, the new model squeezes in a longer 30x optical zoom into its compact body, along with a 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor, 3in / 920k dot screen, 1080 / 60p movies, full manual control and built-in Wifi with NFC. It’s up against tough rivals with Panasonic’s Lumix TZ60 / ZS40 and Sony’s Cyber-shot HX50V / HX60V both offering 30x zooms in compact bodies, so to help you choose I’ve tested all three side-by-side! Find out which will be best for you in my Canon SX700 HS review! 10th April 2014: Sigma 24-105mm f4 review - new ART zoom!

Eric Kim Street Photography In lieu of the popularity of my last post about the “100 Things I Have Learned about Photography,” I decided to make a new list that pertains to street photography specifically. Also if you don’t know, I am currently writing a book titled: “Street Photography 101,” and the excerpts are being posted here. This new list is a homage to the Street Photography 101 book that I am writing. Note that there is some overlap of some of these points with the previous list that I wrote, but I thought it may be essential for new-readers to note. Also, feel free to critique, comment, and share this list with anybody you want.

Strobist This website is about one thing: Learning how to use off-camera flash with your DSLR to take your photos to the next level. Or the next ten levels. If you are a complete beginner at lighting, you are in the right place. Strobist's Free Lighting 101 course starts from absolute zero, and is widely considered to be the best resource of its kind on the web. Photography By Zack Arias I’ve had my hands on the new FujiFilm X-Pro1 for a little over a month now and I have put it through the paces in three countries and on various jobs. If you are a frequent reader of this blog you know the deal. If you are a new reader of my blog let me explain the deal. Increase Your Portrait Revenue Here’s a few ideas that will actually increase your portrait revenue…. trust me these are tried and tested in the height of a recession! Fuji X-Pro1 Journal (Part 2): New Hyperfocal Lens Charts! Like photography itself, the issue of image quality can be addressed either simply or with great complexity… depending on one’s personal proclivities. One way that “pixel peepers” analyze image quality before buying a new digital camera is by squinting at enlarged patches of competing models’ images taken at various ISOs. And photographers seek to maximize the image quality from their existing cameras in two more ways: Strobist Lighting101 (Photo by Strobist reader Sam Simon) Welcome to Lighting 101. You may not realize it yet, but you have just stepped through a door that may change your photography forever.

Shooting Tips, Camera Settings & Tricks For The Fuji X-Pro1 The Fuji X-Pro1 is an excellent camera that excels at image quality. However, out of the box, the camera isn’t quite setup for optimal shooting in terms of speed and ease of use. After shooting with the Fuji X-Pro1 for the last 6 weeks with a full kit of the Fuji 18mm f/2, Fuji 35mm f/1.4 and Fuji 60mm f/2.4 macro lenses, I found a number of tweaks to the default settings that made the camera perform just a little better.
