Sallys Baking Addiction Lemon Blueberry Layer Cake
Sunshine-sweet lemon layer cake dotted with juicy blueberries and topped with lush cream cheese frosting. Take a bite and taste the bursts of bright flavors! What on earth is a lusciously fruit-filled recipe like this doing on my kitchen table in February? While I know the east coast hasn’t been hit nearly as hard as the midwest, we’ve had more snow than we know what to do with. Share Video I love the snow, but someone pass me a fork. I made this cake for my girlfriends, Megan and Erin. On top of all of that, I brought over a few slices of this cake and a fresh batch of oatmeal cookies. Megan’s husband said the cake reminded him of a super moist sponge cake. Making a tall layer cake shouldn’t be overwhelming. Make sure you use fresh lemons. * How to choose lemons at the store? Use buttermilk. * Did you know? Fresh or frozen blueberries are OK. * Why not? More lemon-y recipes for you! Ingredients: Cake Directions: Related:  GoodiesCakes

Robyn Long - Timeline Photos | Facebook Sallys Baking Addiction Banana Chocolate Chip Crumb Cake Super-moist banana crumb cake layered with cinnamon, brown sugar, and chocolate chip streusel. Not one piece of this lip-smacking cake will be leftover! Today’s recipe was completely unplanned. Ok, let me rewind. For dessert, Kerry made this with strawberries on top. Kevin didn’t tell me about brunch with his family until 4pm the day before. Because, I couldn’t possibly go empty handed. After the crumb cake received rave reviews from his family, I knew I had to share the recipe with you. This coffee cake/crumb cake recipe actually comes from my best friend Amy. Wanna see proof? Amy and her family enjoy this banana chocolate chip crumb cake every year on Christmas. First thing’s first. The crumb cake is left fabulously moist from all three moistening-agents: mashed ripe bananas, yogurt, and creamed butter. The streusel! The streusel is heavy on the chocolate chips and heavy on the cinnamon. So many melty chocolate chips in every bite. The cake’s texture isn’t dense like banana bread.

Sallys Baking Addiction Blueberry Sweet Rolls with Lemon Glaze Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Who’s with me in that? Pastries, jumbo muffins, buttermilk pancakes, gooey cinnamon rolls, french toast, crumb-filled coffee cake, granola parfaits, buttery croissants, veggie omelets, coffee, coffee, and more coffee. Oh, and these and these. Most of the time I’m a fruit and yogurt gal. Today’s fruity sweet roll comes from my Easy Cinnamon Roll recipe. You’ll find that the typical sweet roll or homemade bread recipe requires two rises – a first rise of about 1-2 hours, then a second rise for another two hours or overnight. Let’s discuss the filling. Using frozen blueberries means that you can bake these glorious sweet rolls in the dead of winter, too! Since the blueberries are frozen, they will make the dough cold after you fill it, cut into rolls, and allow to rise. The rolls need a warm, draft-free environment to rise. After the rolls have risen and you’ve baked them, it’s time for a glaze. Ingredients: Rolls Filling Sweet Lemon Glaze Directions:

Sallys Baking Addiction Triple Chocolate Pretzel Brownies Decadent chocolate fudge brownies loaded with chocolate covered pretzels and topped with chocolate chips and sea salt. Have you ever tried the ultimate chocolate brownie recipe I shared last year? One-bowl brownies, mixed up in less than 10 minutes, baked, cooled, and ready to devour in under an hour. No mixer, easy clean-up, FUDGE city. Seriously, I’m obsessed with this particular brownie recipe. I went a little bonkers the other day and added dark chocolate covered pretzels to my beloved brownie batter. Anyhoo, Marie LOVES salty/sweet desserts as much as I do and I knew she’d flip for these brownies. So what kind of brownies are these exactly? You’re welcome. You’ll never believe it, but the brownies’ chocolate flavor is from cocoa powder, not pure melted chocolate. Did you know? Today’s brownies are much quicker than your average boxed mix. You need only 1 big mixing bowl, not 100 little bowls to stir this and that together and then add it to this and then whisk that. And! “Sally, wow.”

Clementine Cake Recipe : Nigella Lawson Directions Put the clementines in a pot with cold water to cover, bring to the boil, and cook for 2 hours. Drain and, when cool, cut each clementine in half and remove the seeds. Then finely chop the skins, pith, and fruit in the processor (or by hand, of course). Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Butter and line an 8-inch springform pan with parchment paper. Beat the eggs. Pour the cake mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour, when a skewer will come out clean; you'll probably have to cover the cake with foil after about 40 minutes to stop the top from burning. I've also made this with an equal weight of oranges and lemons, in which case I increase the sugar to 1 1/4 cups and slightly Anglicize it, too, by adding a glaze made of confectioners' sugar mixed to a paste with lemon juice and a little water.

Chocolate Stout Cake Recipe About two weeks ago my younger brother, Jared sent me a text me stating he had pink eye. I’m quite the germophobe, so I was immediately curious how he contracted it; he had no clue. Once I found out about his funky eye, I decided that I would make him a big, decadent, chocolate, layer cake…with chocolate stout. Jared often complains that he doesn’t get enough “play” on My Baking Addiction, so this Chocolate Stout Cake post is devoted to him and his unfortunate encounter with pink eye. His cake also kicks off an entire week of recipes featuring Stout beer as the star ingredient. Although I have expressed my dislike for alcohol in general, I am always compelled to purchase alcoholic libations that pique my interest for use in recipes. After posting the photo of this Chocolate Stout Cake on the My Baking Addiction Facebook page, it affectionately became known as the Pink Eye Cake, which is all kinds of hilarious and repulsive at the same time.
