Wish Chapter 9: nine, a star trek: 2009 fanfic It should have been raining. Not that it wasn't overcast enough, Jim thought as he tipped his head up to the cloudy sky, the droning of the Speaker creating a low buzz that rang in his ears. The clouds were low, bellies dark and bloated with unshed rain, spread out thickly over most of the county. Still, out of some perverse sense of sympathy, they did not let the droplets fall. The funeral was quiet. He didn't know where, exactly, he went, but he knew he was still on his property. Jim blinked wearily, and found himself sitting under the old tree in his front yard. "Are you well?" Jim looked up, unsure of when Spock had arrived, or when Spock had slid into a cross-legged seat next to him, staring at him with his dark eyes full of unasked concerns. "I guess." "You do not appear so," Spock said, tilting his head to study Jim from a different angle. "It should be raining," Jim observed. And maybe a little worry, too. "That was not our topic of conversation, Jim," Spock said evenly. "Jim. "So?"

The SF Site: The Best in Science Fiction and Fantasy Brave New World by Aldous Huxley : chapter one Chapter One A SQUAT grey building of only thirty-four stories. Over the main entrance the words, CENTRAL LONDON HATCHERY AND CONDITIONING CENTRE, and, in a shield, the World State's motto, COMMUNITY, IDENTITY, STABILITY. The enormous room on the ground floor faced towards the north. "And this," said the Director opening the door, "is the Fertilizing Room." Bent over their instruments, three hundred Fertilizers were plunged, as the Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning entered the room, in the scarcely breathing silence, the absent-minded, soliloquizing hum or whistle, of absorbed concentration. "Just to give you a general idea," he would explain to them. "To-morrow," he would add, smiling at them with a slightly menacing geniality, "you'll be settling down to serious work. Meanwhile, it was a privilege. Tall and rather thin but upright, the Director advanced into the room. "Bokanovsky's Process," repeated the Director, and the students underlined the words in their little notebooks. Mr.

An attractive sorority girl with almond eyes and delicate dimples, she was the product of a charmed Boise, Idaho, upbringing: a father who worked in finance, a privateschool education, a pool in the backyard, all the advantages that an upper-middle-class suburban childhood can provide – along with all the expectations attendant to that privilege. "There was a standard to meet," Jackie says. "And I had met that standard my whole life. Jackie just followed her parents' lead understanding implicitly that discipline and structure went hand in hand with her family's devout Catholic beliefs. Featured News From After graduating, Jackie attended nearby University of Idaho, where she rushed a sorority at her parents' prompting. In fact, it took the freedom of college for Jackie to even realize who her "own person" was.

SF Signal Download Free Pulp Fiction Books About This Site Welcome to the Online Pulps site. The purpose of this site is to provide a wide selection of stories from the pulps. Here you will find stories from nearly every genre...detective, science ficton, adventure, romance, western, weird menace, sports, aviation, and even finance! This site was started in February, 2002 and has grown larger than I would ever have thought possible. To make things move a little smoother, this site is now going to be driven directly from a database. Another change is that instead of listing the ranges for each of the author pages and issue pages, only a link to the first respective page will be supplied on this main page. In the future I plan to add a search page and some statistics pages showing the most popular downloads for the week, month, and since the site began. Join the Mailing List If you would like to be notified when new stories are added, I have set up a mailing list through Yahoo Groups for this purpose. How You Can Help How It's Done

Hyperlink A Game of Thrones Summary Go ahead and try to summarize an 800ish-page book. We dare you. Actually, we dare ourselves. And we never, ever turn down a dare. Here's the super short version: Several noble houses fight a civil war over who should be king, while an exiled princess tries to find her place in the world, and the kingdom is threatened by some rising supernatural threat in the north. What makes this book so hard to summarize is that it's told from the point-of-view of eight different characters and, well, there's a lot going on. (1) The longest part of this book tells how the noble Stark family deals with conspiracy and court politics in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, with particular emphasis on Eddard Stark, the father and leader of the noble family. (2) A second story follows the exiled princess Daenerys, one of the last descendants from the previous royal family, as she grows up on another continent. So it's not that hard to follow, after all. So, here's the slightly longer plot summary:
