I was immediately hooked on the concept of transforming simple and unexpected elements into something beautiful and wearable. That moment was the catalyst for my eventual path into jewelry design and craft – my higher calling, if you will. Today’s tutorial takes me back to my first foray into jewelry making, where I’ll show you how to make two delightful bracelets using the same basic component. Get inspired and have fun!
Untold Stories of the First World War Photos, letters and other memorabilia It was the war that tore Europe apart – a struggle between the central powers of Germany, Austria-Hungary, Turkey and Bulgaria, against the allied powers of Britain, France, Belgium, Russia, Italy and the USA. No European nation was left untouched – even neutral states felt the impact of the war. But it was the ordinary men and women who were affected the most. This exhibition gives those personal accounts from across Europe for the first time, based on stories and items contributed by the public.
Europe's first techno museum to open in Frankfurt Calling all ravers! Europe's first techno museum is opening in Frankfurt, meaning that soon you'll be able to combine clubbing with a cultural day out. The Museum of Modern Electronic Music (MOMEM) is set up by industrial DJ Andreas Tomalla (aka TALLA 2XLC), whose credibility cannot be doubted – he actually invented the word "techno". Tomalla hopes that the museum will open its doors in 2017. La Petite Histoire Upload TV Libertés Loading... sewing 101: fabric boxes It seems no matter what I do, I can never get a handle on all the tiny odds and ends that accumulate around my house. From craft materials to hair ties, the bits and bobs are constantly trying to take over, so in the never-ending quest to corral them, these little fabric bins were born. You can make one of these soft boxes in almost no time, and in almost any size, so you can customize them to perfectly fit whatever you need to hold. Top each one off with a label holder (also customizable in any shade of the rainbow, thanks to nail polish), and you’ll have a leg up on clutter . . . for a little while, at least. — Brett Bara
