My 48-Hour Liquid Fast Posted June 12, 2012 I have been wanting to do an all liquid cleanse for quite a while now, and now that I am not bound by the strict eating schedule of Gerson Therapy I have had the chance to do it. As those of you who are familiar with Gerson know, it is two years of constant eating and drinking. Why do a liquid fast? Digestion takes up so much of our body’s energy. Fun fact: Did you know that if you had a big meal and then did exercise straight after, the food you just ate would not be properly digested? The point of the story is that when our bodies aren’t busy digesting, they can get to work on other important tasks like healing. What to Eat When You’re Broke The lower your income is, the more difficult it is to be particular about what you feed your family. This probably isn't an earth-shattering revelation to anyone, but if you feel like experimenting, try to buy a week’s worth of healthy food for a family on a budget of, say, $50-75. Food manufacturers that target lower income shoppers with more affordable products tend to include more GMOs and toxic ingredients in their offerings. It just isn’t possible to stick to my usual food restrictions. It is a matter, then, of weighing the pros and cons, and figuring out what things, for you, are the most important, while also deciding which standards can be sacrificed. Sometimes, when you’re looking at someone else’s situation while you are comfortably backed by a loaded pantry, it’s easy to be judgemental and tell them what they “should” do. 1.) 2.) 14 Home Remedies for Arthritis & Joint Pain We take the freedom of movement for granted, until it becomes limited. The cause of this for many people comes in the form of arthritis, or the inflammation of one or more of your joints. There are two main kinds, osteo and rheumatoid, both of which affect the joint in different ways. Osteo arthritis is when the cartilage between bones wears down, until bone grates on bone. Rheumatoid is little less straightforward, being caused by an autoimmune disorder that causes inflammation of the synovial membrane (a soft tissue that protects joints in the body) and that can lead to bone loss. Whichever you experience, there are natural remedies for arthritis to manage the pain and ease the symptoms. 1. Turmeric and ginger are both anti-inflammatorys, and will help with oseto and rheumatoid arthritis. You will need… -2 cups of water -1/2 teaspoon ground ginger -1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric -Honey to taste 2. You will need… -1/2 cup of Epsom salt -A large bowl -Warm water 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

This is a standard requirement of US commencement speeches, the deployment of didactic little parable-ish stories. Of course the main requirement of speeches like this is that I'm supposed to talk about your liberal arts education's meaning, to try to explain why the degree you are about to receive has actual human value instead of just a material payoff. Here's another didactic little story. Everyone here has done this, of course. But it will be. You get the idea. "This is water."
