Manipulation en mathématiques et TNI au primaire Le 28 juin dernier, deux enseignantes dynamiques et branchées de notre C.S. ont accepté de présenter le fruit de leur travail en lien avec divers ateliers de manipulation en mathématiques se référant pour la cause à leurs conseillères pédagogiques. Elles nous ont présenté beaucoup de matériel qu’elles ont elles même confectionné pour les élèves de leur classe afin de rendre "signifiante" l’expérience de manipulation des concepts. Lors de l’atelier nous avons pu constater comment il était possible de laisser les élèves manipuler afin de construire leur propre référentiel mathématique, mais aussi et surtout, comment mettre la technologie à contribution à divers moment (Se référer à la stratégie des 3O TablO, burO, cervO) . Les participants (es) ont vraiment apprécié cette demi journée et sont reparti tout sourire avec en poche, le matériel et les références. Playdough Geometry: Exploring Shapes | School Time Snippets I love making learning fun in our homeschool...I try anyways! In an effort to do that, I find myself online a lot looking for inspiration. My search led me to TeachersPayTeachers where I found some cute printable shapes cards. And I decided right then we had to use them! You just need a few materials and you are ready for some hands-on geometry exploring shapes for your preschooler or elementary aged student! post may contain affiliate links. Supplies: craft sticksplay doughshape cards Using play dough and craft sticks is a great hands-on way to explore geometry-- the study of shapes, lines, and patterns! Great for fine motor skills, too! Grab a tub or two of play dough and a stash of craft sticks {ours came from CraftProjectIdeas}. Start with one of the shape cards and manipulate the playdough to make several balls. Next add in the craft sticks and continue until your shape is made! I worked on some basic shapes with Little Sis-- the triangle, square, and rhombus. Pretty cool!

Interactive Fraction Wall explore Fractions Percentages and Decimals Fraction walls are a great way to teach about fractions and in particular equivalent fractions. In a fraction wall each row or layer of the wall represents one whole number. The layers are divided into a number of bricks and hence each brick represents a fraction whose denominator is equal to the number of bricks in that layer. Each brick can be turned on or off by clicking it. This wall also allows the display of decimal and percentage values.
