The Making of an “ELITE” Identity Deep down inside every designer loves a good ol' fashion logo. In-fact, as a kid you probably redrew the Nike or Lacoste logo over and over, just for fun. Or was that just me? So when a start-up business owner of an athletic training company approached me to help with their identity I was super excited about the opportunity. Final Identity Preview A preview of the final "ELITE" identity is below. Project Outline The Elite Sports Training mission statement reads "athletic performance institute driven to help prepare young athletes to live and compete to their full potential." With the client on this project being a young, new business it was important for them to not come off as amateur. Concept Take notes, lots and lots of them. On identity projects, I always try to collect words and/or phrases that embody the company because it always helps spawn ideas and/or visuals. The idea is that the icons could be interchangeable, depending on the execution. Sketch Icon Design Type Design Refine

Realistic Vector Motorcycle Portraits Every semester, in my Illustrator classes, my students always want to know how I create the Motorcycle Portraits I am known for. I often give them a brief explanation, but I have never really sat down and described the process in detail...until now. My approach to getting a "realistic" look in my work is a bit tedious, but I think you will agree that the end results are well worth it. Enjoy! 1. Another question I get a lot from my students is, "What kind of computer should I buy to become a great illustrator?" A computer is only as good as the techniques and steps you put it through to generate your images. 2. I draw whatever captures my attention. When I take my reference shots, I take as many different angles as I can. 3. One rule I always tell my students is: In order to trace, Choose File Menu and Place. I don't follow my own advice! 4. A motorcycle is made up of so many elements put together. 5. 6. 7. The Final Results So, there you go!

Mão no código Simples? Legal não é mesmo? Boa sorte!
How to Create Cool Light Effects in Photoshop This tutorial is maybe another proof that I’m a light and color effects freak, I like them very much. So, In this tutorial I’ll show you more light and layer styles effects. You don’t need any special brushes for this tutorial. Everything is done using a few stock images and a few techniques already used on my previous tutorials. This is an advanced tutorial and you should know how to create a custom brush and how to apply layer styles. What I wanted to create was a sort of wizard that throws colored energy balls so I created some stock images and started to work. Preview Materials needed Step 1 Open your model stock in Photoshop. Step 2 I started by making a light ball. Step 3 At this point this doesn’t really look very good so I added some more details. Keep in mind that depending on the colors of your stock image, you might have to use different blend modes. As you see on the powerball dots layer, the nice outerglow around the small dots is visible because of the big orange glow light.
