DESCARGAS MANUALES SAP ABAP IV Keys to customer loyalty | Teradata Magazine Combined network and business data lets telcos optimize customer experience and improve retention. by Kristin Lewotsky, with contributions from Alan Martin Monique isn't having a good day. She's on a hectic business trip. Reception is even worse at her home office, especially with her new 3G handset. At the call center, Joe, the customer care representative, pulls up Monique's information on his screen. Monique now has two bad experience points of reference: the poor quality of her wireless service and the frustration of the call center not understanding her needs. Managing the experience Customer loss is the bane of the telecommunications industry. Savvy carriers find ways to apply business intelligence (BI) to help them succeed. For carriers, customer loyalty and retention often boil down to understanding the customer experience: Was it good or bad? For years, CEM has meant the retail experience, service touchpoints, even the bill. Specific analytics can bring big benefits. It's Joe.

What the company required was a system management capability. "We believe key differentiators for our company are customer service and service quality," says Scott DeLap, financial systems and reporting director. Once the data is collected, the Frontier marketing team builds daily campaigns targeted at specific subscribers to recommend appropriate products or special offers. Initially, real-time data collection proved a challenge. Bayer said survival analysis programs predict how long it will take for an event to occur – in the case of telecommunications, how long before a customer moves on to another service provider or product, a phenomenon known as “churn.” “Every [major] wireless operator in North America is currently using some sort of analytics platform to predict churn,” he said.
