Dress Coding: Casual Work Attire - Lauren Conrad For those of you who are lucky enough to enjoy a casual work environment thank your lucky stars! Generally speaking, casual dress code can be symbolic of a company’s attitude toward its employees. In a way, it’s a sign of respect and trust. Apple, Google, and Nike all have very casual, laidback dress codes. The best thing about a casual dress code is almost anything goes (unless it conflicts with The Commandments, of course). Below are a few outfit ideas for all you casual work wear ladies to consider… 1. Jaeger Circular Hem Sweater, 7 For All Mankind Roxanne Jeans, Butter London nail polish in British Racing Green, LC Lauren Conrad Bow Ring, H&M Cap Toe Flats, See by Chloe Loki Bag 2. Miss Selfridge Ochre Dress, Topshop Crop Jacket, Deborah Lippmann nail polish in Naked, Madewell Caravan Bag, H&M Platform Heels 3. 4. 5. The bottom line? What’s your go-to casual office outfit? If you work in a formal setting, be sure to check out my post on business professional attire. XO Lauren P.S.

Hand Stitching, part 1 - LA - StumbleUpon One of my favorite crafts is hand stitching-- it's fun, addictive, expressive and relaxing :) Over the next few weeks, I'm going to share easy ways to make your own patterns for hand stitching along with some tips and ideas :) These are some samples of my past projects-- I like to draw patterns freehand and use my handwriting. However, sometimes I adapt clipart type images to make a more complicated pattern, like the sewing machine or I just stitch the outline of an image I love, like the Goonies "Hey You Guys" silhouette :) I use a Back Stitch for all my hand stitching because it's very versatile and I like the look but you can use any combination of stitches for your projects... there's lots of fun ones! Today, we're going to start with handwriting & transferring your pattern :) You will Need: - Card-stock or Thick Paper (I cut a piece of 6x8" card-stock & folded it in half to create a greeting card) - Needle & Scissors - Embroidery Thread - Scrap Paper & Pen - Thumbtack or Piercing Tool

Fashion Friday: 21 Outfits for Fall {fashion 2011} | Home Stories A to Z It’s been a long time since we’ve had a fashion friday post and man-oh-man do I ever need some fall fashion inspiration! I’ve gathered together a collection of 21 outfits that inspire me to get out of my grubbies and start looking cute! Since my boys went back to school, I have been running around town with no makeup, pony-tail hair, glasses, and “lounge wear”. I’m not sure my kiddos’ teachers will even recognize me when (if???) Fashion for 2011 When you are putting together an outfit, use the same rules that you use when putting together a room or vignette. For fall and winter, I wear a ton of neutrals so this outfit is very me. I LOVE this outfit minus the necklace and bracelet. I wouldn’t have thought to put a Burberry scarf with a green cardigan, but I like this look a lot. Again, I couldn’t walk in those shoes, but I love them. I like everything here minus the scarf, belt, and bag. This next outfit has me wanting to sip some cider and go on a hayride! Perfection.
