Findings report a staggering 17% increase in the number of people living with dementia, compared to the original ADI estimates in the 2009 World Alzheimer Report. This will increase the number of people dementia from 115 to 135 million by 2050. The report makes ten key recommendations for the summit aims to identify and agree a new international approach to dementia research and policy. That is the only reason why they are not featured in the first book. Since we discovered them, we have been rigorously applying these methods in all our work in addition to the Design Thinking approach we've been practicing for over a decade. Our new book was the opportunity to conceptualize, synthesize, and visualize the intersection between Design Thinking, Business Model Generation, Customer Development, and Lean Startup in a way that is simple to understand and apply. In Value Proposition Design we dedicate an entire chapter to the testing of business models and value propositions and outline several new practical tools and processes that make testing an even more systematic, practical endeavor.
Milk | Port-a-Bach: A Container Getaway Port-a-Bach is a holiday home made from a shipping container. It’s portable, secure, stylish, and can comfortably accommodate two adults and two children. How wonderful it is to just lay there, on the top bunk bed, read a book and enjoy the perfect indoor/outdoor flow. This prefab getaway allows you to use your land without investing in a permanent housing solution; it can be connected to available services or used off the grid; and it has a minimal impact on site and can be easily transported and installed. This portable vacation home is based on a fully enclosed steel shell, positioned on six stable concrete footings. I have that feeling of being somewhat overwhelmed, I can’t twist and turn any more, it simply will not go away. Do I throw myself off the building or decide to listen a little longer? It really is forcing me to think. Today it seems whenever I pick up a business book each chapter has a section on it. Also I seem not to be able to not fall over all the articles extolling its virtues, I mindlessly “Google it” and you can see your whole life flash before you, if you decided to investigate this seriously. What am I talking about? Design thinking is a mindset If we believe we can make a difference and even have gone that one step further, many never seem to get there, where we have an intentional process to get us to new relevant solutions that do actually create a positive impact.
