Matt’s story told by him | My Dead Son's Journals Whether it’s coke, heroin, or prescription medication, it all happens the same way. You are always un-suspecting your first time, and generally people don’t set out trying to use drugs, or drinking themselves completely stupid every single day. Things happen, and sometimes you end up trying things as almost an accident. The whole course of my life was changed by one event–a trip to my local doctor in Crandon for a minor operation to fix-up an infected toe on my right foot. The pain was excruciating. When we got to the clinic, both my mom and I were ushered into one of the back, examination rooms. “No, we’re going to numb you up real good. My mother went back to the waiting room while Dr. The first few cuts I didn’t feel, but when he got to the nail itself, which was surrounded by nothing but infected flesh, I began to feel, hell, I began to scream because I could feel everything. The doctor stopped for a second – “You can feel that?!?” Ooh yeah, I was screaming, and I was crying.

Safe Online Outreach Society Dissecting the Red Pill | Illimitable Men There is an incredible amount of confusion and misrepresentation out there about what exactly the red pill is. There are those who simply dislike it and thus misrepresent it and there are those whom are new to the philosophy who among all the chaos of differing opinion, spam and plethora of theories and content are just left scratching their heads. I hope here to communicate the fundamentals of what the widely encompassing philosophy entails, and dispel many of the misconceptions that have formed around it. No rites of passage, a common prevalence of absent fathers and a feminised gynocentric culture has essentially robbed fathers of agency over their children, with a lack of fatherly input into the raising of children in modern western feminist societies men are becoming increasingly lost. When broken homes and single parent families are the norm there’s a lot of children out there growing up without the direction they need to succeed in life. Like this: Like Loading...

Marsali Hancock: Digital Citizenship for Today's Teens HuffPost High School and iKeepCurrent will explore digital citizenship: what it means to be an ethical, responsible and resilient digital citizen. Our partnership will provide a unique opportunity to include the youth voice often left silent in the online safety, security and ethics discussion. This is what we know: the way students interact with each other online profoundly affects how they perceive themselves and engage with others offline. The reality is that our young people meet and bond emotionally through their digital devices. Every day we learn of digital dramas and dilemmas that are rocking schools, regions or the entire nation. That's why we've created the iKeepCurrent Generation Safe News Feed. And because adults don't solely shape what's happening now, we've got turn to our young technocrats who live these stories every day and have something to teach us in return. It's all about positioning our teens for success in this new connected reality that we live in.

SafeKids.com | Digital citizenship, online safety & civility Love the Grows: Questions You Should Ask Before Marriage In my marriage class in my first semester of college, our teacher gave us a handout (or should I say packet) with these questions. At first I was like "Holy shnikeys! This is way too many questions! But we did. At first it started with asking the interesting questions, but then we asked them all, wondering if maybe the answer would be different than we expected. From answering these questions we talked about how we plan on raising and disciplining our kids, who will manage the bills, what our parents should and shouldn't know about, what we believe our flaws are. Here's some of the questions I think are really important to have an understanding on in your marriage. I don't necessarily believe the answers to these questions will make or break your marriage, but I do believe that opening up the lines of communication and honestly talking about the important things these questions bring up IS important. A Bullying Quiz Printer-friendly version Objectives: Understand how evidence regarding behavioral patterns might challenge personal beliefs and assumptions about social behavior Use evidence about bullying behavior to inform daily decisions regarding social interactions and understand the necessity of making personal decisions in bullying situations Use factual information to consider consequences and alternatives of personal behavior choices IntroductionEven students who have experienced bullying might be surprised by the statistics and studies about bullying. The frequency with which students admit to bullying might surprise students who feel alone and isolated due to the wrath of a bully. It is important, likewise, for students who are victims and bystanders to seek help when this kind of behavior emerges. A common trait among bullies is lack of empathy, the inability to be aware of or understand other people's feelings. Activities
