This Guy's Portal Gun Actually Works, Turns His House Into a Test Chamber Not necessarily, once he flew into the air all of his earlier momentum was slowed, then halted, by gravity, then it was simply a matter of falling from that height... he would have gone very high up, but on his way down I don't think he would reach terminal velocity again (napkin math tells me it would be less, but I don't know how much less). Even if it were substantially less, it *would* have killed him anyway, *if* all of that force was directed toward the Earth when he landed, but as soon as he went through the last portal, all of that gravity was transferred into horizontal force, and (like a bullet) he would have fallen to Earth no faster than if you dropped a baseball. That said, in the video it looks like he slammed into that fence, so... The solution would've been to put two portals on the ground and wait for gravity to slow his velocity as he fell up and down through both. Don't forget the part where he looks up to see himself... That section had a few problems...

- StumbleUpon I have been playing a lot with the Displace filter in Photoshop and I still get impressed with how powerful it is. Even though I have written some tutorials using it, I decided to try to recreate a different effect that I saw in one of the images submitted for the Daily Inspiration. It was a brick wall deformed like it was made of cloth. So in this tutorial, or a quick-tips I will show you how to create a curtain made of bricks or how to deform a brick wall as it was a curtain. Step 1 Open Photoshop and create a new document. Step 2 Let's import another image, now of a girl opening the curtains. Step 3 With the Lasso Tool (L) or the Pen Tool (P) select the empty white. Step 5 Now select the hands/arms of the girl and the curtains. Step 6 Move the brick wall layer so it will be in front of the girl layer. Step 7 Go to Layer>Layer Mask>Hide Selection. Step 8 Duplicate the girl layer and delete the girl using the mask of the bricks wall for reference. Step 9 Step 10 Step 11 Step 12 Step 13 Step 14

In this semi-drunk movie about Supermans death, Elijah Wood is Cyborg Superman I don't think that the The Death of Superman started the "death is meaningless" in comics. Like people said, Jean Grey had happened years before, and the trend of reviving long-dead Silver and Golden Age characters such as Barry Allen (died in 1985, resurrected in 2008), Hal Jordan (died in 1996, resurrected in 2006), Bucky (died in 1968, ressurected in 2005) and Jason Todd (Died in 1988, resurrected in 2005) is a 21st-century trend. What Death of Superman started, however, is the replacement of iconic heroes with more hip or edgy version: Thor got replaced by Thunderstrike, Captain America with U.S. Agent, Batman by Azrael, Spider-Man with Scarlet Spider, Iron Man with War Machine, etc. Not many of these characters survived into present day, at least not as replacement - War Machine is probably the one who is the most popular nowadays.

Original Abstract Tree Painting Textured Red by ChristineKrainock Design How cool is this table?! It’s one the unique creations by French designer/carpenter Damien Hamon of Daha Furniture. This bike called the Roller Shuttle was what first inspired me to find other interesting bicycles. The Forkless Cruiser was Olli Erkkila’s graduation project at the Institute of Design in Lahti, Finland. Williams British Handmade designed this non-traditional collection of luggage, and while I’m not exactly sure what it’s all used for, it looks really cool. (Link via We Heart)

20 awesome examples of street art If you still need a proof that art can be found anywhere, those awesome examples of great street art should convince you. Fernando Volken Togni How to Draw Celtic Knotwork The old method These instructions can be followed with pencil and paper or using any computer based drawing or drafting program. I have used Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, and AutoDesk AutoCad for various projects, but my favorite is Corel Draw. In the tutorial below I show the method that I use in Corel Draw; however, I have deliberately left out program-specific instructions. This method, like most, begins with drawing the grid. The second step is to draw in the diagonals. Next draw in the connecting curves that will become the edges of the knotwork. This is the step that most people have the most trouble with: deciding where to "Break the Grid". So, where do we put these spaces to make an aesthetically pleasing design? Here is how I do it:: I CHEAT! 1). Or 2). But back to the tutorial. Follow the diagonals until you come to a red line. For this step a computer graphics program comes in real handy. We're almost there! All that is left is to figure out the "Over / Under Thing".
