Nuance - Home globe trekker blog “Globe Trekker,” shown in the U.S. on PBS, is my favourite travel show because it focuses on real travellers experiencing slices of local cultures, not sightseeing. McCormick is my kind of traveller. Her enthusiasm for the places she visits is infectious and you can’t help but conclude that she’d be a fun person to travel with. McCormick has lived in three U.S. states plus Argentina, Japan, Spain and the U.K., but says she’s now settling down in New York. Where did you grow up? I was born in Ohio but I was mostly raised in Florida. Were you a traveler growing up? I grew up with a giant map of the world and a subscription to National Geographic. That was in the mid-’90s after I graduated from college. Do you have a family? I do. What does that mean? I don’t know. Wait a minute. I more or less backpacked most of the year until 2004 when my daughter was born, but I kept traveling for the first few years. So how did you transition from backpacker to “Globe Trekker” host? I should know that.

Seeking Higher Consciousness We can learn so much from nature. So much so, that if we modeled all of our technology off of the basic principles of how nature operates, we would be in very good hands. Using the law of conservation of energy, we would make sure that all power was used to the most efficient and effective means possible. For example, modelling our Solar Panels off of Photosynthesis, free energy becomes as commonplace as cars on roads… or sliced bread! These are actual planes in the air all at the same time! In this video, Louie Schwartzberg describes a movie that he has been working on for a while, which brings a level of awareness to “That which is Unseen”. The most exciting part to me was the Dragonflies. Imagine if you had your own little Dragonfly jet they could fly around anywhere you wanted? There’s only one word I can use to describe it… Badass! Okay, this is just plain amazing! They say it works, and they’re convinced! Einstein was an absolutely brilliant man. What am I still rambling about?
Steve’s Travel Blog Hello all, As I am writing this blog I am on a 9 hour train ride from Yogyakarta (pronounced Cho-cha-karta) to Jakarta. It is a great time to catch up on my blog and let you know what has been going on for the last 16 days. As I am on the train it has made me think more about the travel then necessarily about each individual place. I think I might write this blog a little differently than some of the others and give you hopefully something more entertaining to read. Jan 2 – traveled on overnight bus from Ubud , Bali to Surabaya, Java Jan 3 – Check out Surabaya city of 2.4 million people Jan 4 – Continue to see the sights in Surabaya Jan 5 – More in Surabaya in the morning then take a 5 hour train ride to Semarang in the afternoon Jan 6 – Take a 23 hour boat ride from Semarang to Kumai, Kalimantan Jan 7 – Arrive in Kumai and travel short distance to Pangalan Bun for the day Jan 8 to 11 – A 3 day boat tour of Tanjung Puting National Park in search of wild Orangutans and other primates.
