Online Interior Design Magazines Many of you know that one of my all time favorite things to do in my down time is read design magazines. Paper or electronic. I get so many ideas from them and enjoy saving those inspirational ideas for later use. The E.D.G.E This tiny prefab home is an experiment in all things efficient. The E.D.G.E., designed and built by by Bill Yudchitz and Revelations Architects/Builders Corp. in Wisconsin, stands for an Experimental Dwelling for a Greener Environment, and recently won a design award from the American Institute of Architects-Wisconsin. Several details of this design make it unique to other prefab designs. The “kinetic facade” rain screen, which consists of tall louvered panels, can be closed over the passive solar windows to insulate the interior and protect the E.D.G.E. when unoccupied. It contains two lofts with full staircases, and the furniture is custom made for the house and is multi-functional. In fact, the dining room furniture transforms into a bed.

I loved that in between appointments with patients in his home office, the good doctor could pop into the family kitchen and hang with Mike, Carol, Ben and the gang while mom Maggie was out working as a reporter. What could be better, right? Now, as an adult who primarily works from home with the exception of meetings, events, and occasional respite at a local coffee shop, the work-where-you-live concept that I found so novel in "Growing Pains" has, well, worn off a bit.

Mind-Blowing Illusion Makes Water Freeze in Mid-Air This Video from Youtube user Brusspup shows you how to do a cool science experiment from home that will make water appear to freeze in mid-air. The sound waves from the speaker will cause the water droplets to fall in a uniform pattern. Combine that with a camera that follows the same frequency in frames per second, and a picture is taken at a time when a new droplet is in the same spot.
