49 Dresses: DIY Reunited with my sewing machine and it feels so good. Actually, that's a lie, I got a new machine, so it actually feels better. Anyway, while summer does not mean I'm just bumming around all the time, I do have a little more free time on my hands and therefore decided to tackle my monstrous pile of potential sewing projects last night. About time, right? It's been a while. I got this dress sometime within the past year (yep, it's been so long I don't even remember...) from Goodwill for $4. First, the simple stuff. Then I had all that excess fabric...and I didn't know how I felt about the cheap black belt that came with the dress, so I made one. Then turned it right side out and hand finished the remaining end with a quick slip stitch. Which resulted in this! And so a new dress was born, right?

P.S. How To Make Your Bedroom A Sanctuary Top 15 Cleaning Tips Mail a Slice of Cake Easy Christmas Treats in a Can {neighbor gift I hope you all enjoyed the Snowman Dice Game I shared last Wednesday. This week I have another fun idea that is not only a cute neighbor gift, it is also new family tradition in my home. You're going to love how easy these Christmas treats in a can are to make! One of my readers left me a comment mentioning a fun activity her family does each year. Each year take a walk (or drive) around your neighborhood and vote for the house with the best Christmas decorations- choose a top 3 or 5 or 10 or just your absolute favorite. Then, leave treats on their doorstep telling them how much you appreciate their decorations! Simply fun and thoughtful- I love it! Making them is as easy as 1-2-3: Purchase a can at your grocery store with a pop-top. Fill the can with treats then seal it up by adding some hot glue to the rim. Embellish the heck out of it! And that's it! For more handmade holiday ideas, stop by Somewhat Simple! See you next week!

Grosgrain Guess what? We just got a bunny. Tomorrow is Lily's 8th birthday and Toots was her gift (she was already named when we got her but we might change it to Tootsie, the jury is still out on that). The kids have been bugging to get a pet but I'm allergic to cats and Henri is too small to have a dog in the house even a small one, so I thought a bunny would be a good comprise. They can be litterbox trained and have a little more personality than a hamster or guinea pig. When I started looking into bunny essentials I found myself disappointed with the selection of cages, even the expensive ones. 2 sets of Storage Cubes: $30 (with two $5 off per $15 item coupons)Psst.......Bed, Bath and Beyond coupons NEVER expire even though they have an expiration date printed on them. Step 1: Decide how many storage box sets you'll need. Step 2: Before you connect your entire cage, plan where you want the cage to open. Step 3: Snap together cage. Step 4: Add levels. Step 5: Add the rubber mat to the levels.
