And The Winner Of TechCrunch Disrupt NYC Is…Getaround! Three days and 32 startup pitches later, the winner of TechCrunch Disrupt has been determined. Out of the 30 startups and two audience choice winners, we whittled the list down to six finalists, which include Billguard, ccLoop, Do@, Getaround, InvoiceASAP, and Sonar. Without further ado, the two runners-up are Billguard and Sonar (that’s the first time we’ve had two runners-up). Watch Getaround win the cup at the award presentation: Here’s what Getaround told us backstage after they won the cup. Getaround is a car rental market place where you can rent a car by the day, hour or week through a smartphone app. Getaround was a hit with the judges when the startup pitched the idea on Tuesday; with most of the judges wishing they could have invested in the company. In addition to a $50,000 grand prize, the company has just been handed the Disrupt Cup, taking over possession from Disrupt San Francisco winner Qwiki. You can check out the coverage of Getaround, Sonar and Billguard below:

Des jeux vidéo halal Anti-matiere – Lexpansion | Anti-matiere - Lexpansion Si l’industrie des jeux vidéo pèse 60 milliards de dollars dans le monde, les Pays du Golfe ne représentent encore que 1,6% du marché selon la presse locale. La raison de ce chiffre très faible ? Should Facebook Pay You? Or: How To Monetize Friends And Charge People Johan Staël von Holstein doesn't seem to like Mark Zuckerberg. "I have 5,000 friends on Facebook," says the Swedish-born entrepreneur, who lives in Singapore, but was about to board a flight from Barcelona to Germany, and then to Dubai, when we spoke by phone. "I could have had 10,000, but Mark Zuckerberg only lets me have five. I could have sent out an article to all of them, but I can't, because Mark Zuckerberg only lets me send to 20 people. Staël von Holstein is launching a Facebook competitor out of Singapore called MyCube; it's currently in private beta. I just signed up on the site, and as a result was given 5,000 free "Cubes," a virtual currency on the site worth a total of 50 Singapore dollars, or about $40 American. The difficulty of finding the right word for the way people stand in relation to one another underscores the difficulty MyCube faces. Staël von Holstein points out that you can choose to give away any content for free, if you wish. [Top image: Wikimedia commons]

Weezer"Say It Ain't So"[DGC; 1994] It's been obscured by misheard lyrics, Rock Band histrionics, and Rivers Cuomo's guileless run as a pop mercenary, but "Say It Ain't So"-- lunging riffs and all-- is an intimate piece of songwriting.
