Beginner's Dishcloth Granny Loves Ripples Crochet Baby Blanket - Exquisite knit & crochet designs with fine yarns Granny Loves Ripples Crochet Baby Blanket - FREE PATTERN I heard wonderful news last week that a dear friend of mine adopted a baby girl. I always like to crochet something for a new baby. I was going to make a little bonnet and booties, but after hearing about this granny-along, I thought that I would make a granny square blanket. But, then I heard about the ripple-along, and wanted something with a scalloped edge, like chevrons. So, I worked up a pattern for a granny inspired chevron stitch: you work the basic stitches the same as you would in a square, and the increase points of the chevron are the same as the increases in granny square corners. The blanket uses one skein of Pound of Love (100% baby acrylic) from your local craft store, and a US 10 (6.0mm) crochet hook. by Kristin Omdahl, for www.styledbykristin.com Multiple of 12 sts + 3 Chain 159 Row 3 - 43: repeat row 2.

Crochet spiral scarf We like the visual concept of the spiral scarf in Interweave's new book "Scarf Style" by Pam Allen. But the concept of miles of short rows seemed daunting to say the least. Even when knitting backwards so taht the turning is minimized, it'd be a long project composed of very short bits. We're pleased to see that this was a good enough idea that it got the actual cover of Interweave Press' Fall 2005 crochet issue! Level of difficulty Beginner. Finished measurements Length: 50"/125cm (measured against the foundation chain). Materials 1 ball Crystal Palace Little Flowers, 9551 flame. 1 ball Crystal Palace Merino Frappe, 146 cherry pie. Gauge 7 dc = 4"/10cm. Stitches used US: Chain st(ch). Row 1: chain 80 for the foundation row.

Blossom Festival Scarf - for May Blossom Festival Scarf Materials: 5.5mm & 6.mm hook and WW yarn—green and pink. My green is a Mill End so I can’t tell you much about it. I should explain that this started out to be another pattern but I did not like the way that one was going with this yarn. This scarf could be made in any length you wish and gauge is really not important for a scarf. This pattern uses a multiple of 6 plus 2 OOPS I forgot to define a shell shell (4 dc, ch 2, 4 dc) in same st . With green yarn and 6.mm hook chain 168 Row one works around both sides of the original chain. Row 1: Sc in 2nd chain from hook *skip next 2 ch, shell in next ch, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to end then work the same pattern along the other side. Ruffled Crochet Dishcloth I had several requests for the ruffled crochet dishcloth pattern seen in this post. We were driving off for the day to fetch Mr. Pibb and I wanted something to keep me occupied on the long drive. Something that was easy and wouldn’t require lugging around a lot of stuff. This is a very simple project that can be completed in a couple of hours with one not very big ball of yarn. I like the solid better because you can see the pattern. It’s a very pretty pattern, kinda looks like little flowers. This dishcloth is based on a pattern in one of those “how to” oversize pamphlets you can find on the racks wherever they sell yarn. I just couldn’t live without the fluffy ruffle. I also didn’t use an H hook. You can make this dishcloth smaller, or larger, by adding or removing from the starter chains. Printer-FriendlyHow to make a Ruffled Crochet Dishcloth: Finished Size: Approximately 9-inch square Materials: *100% cotton worsted weight yarn (2 ounces) *Crochet hook, size F Directions:Row 1.
