No. Primero, porque uno tiene la sensación de que es lo que él querría, utilizando además la peor de las técnicas posibles, la de la falsa humildad, la del tipo que antepone el lucimiento de sus actores y actrices antes que la de su tarea, ocultando sus ansias por convertirse en un realizador con estilo propio, basado exclusivamente en primeros planos y grandes angulares, excesivo en sus limitaciones. La adaptación de la obra de Victor Hugo lo tenía todo, y cuando digo todo quiero decir todo, para ser perfecta y aunque no es justo pedirle algo así a nada ni nadie, que una película como esta se quede en notable, alto pero notable, duele un poquito más.
