Top 10 Fonts Web Designers Love - Hongkiat When I was starting out with Web and graphic design, I was always wondering about the fonts that real designers use. So I conducted a research to find out the most popular fonts designers like to use, their best practices, and also out of personal curiosity, their typographical needs. It would be nice to know which font is good for which situation and today I am sharing with you the results of my research. Through a combination of data collected from Polldaddy, Forrst, Facebook and Twitter, I got feedback from 34 designers from 14 countries answering questions about their favorite fonts and explaining to me why they love them. By analysing all the input submitted I have uncovered some interesting information, which has been put together in an infographic by friends in Piktochart. Below that, check out the Top 10 list of free and premium fonts, and some of the interesting reasons why designers have their favorite fonts.
How to install php-login on Windows 7 / 8 - Dev Metal In this tutorial we’ll work through the installation process of “php-login” (a user authentication system, and it’s my project btw) under Windows 7 (which is basically the same as in Windows 8 and 8.1). This tutorial has been created in addition to the official installation tutorial for Ubuntu 12.04 LTS as lots of people develop locally under Windows. Some things first: PHP applications usually run on linux servers, so it’s very useful and very clean to develop on a linux server. There’s absolutly no need to develop on a real live server (security, costs, remote problems, etc.), instead virtual machines are the way to go: There’s an excellent software called Vagrant, letting you easily setup real linux servers on your local computer within seconds, servers that can exactly represent your production server.
Responsive CSS Framework Comparison: Bootstrap, Foundation, Skeleton Bootstrap 4.0.0-alpha is a fairly large update to the framework. It has dropped Less support in favor of Sass, converted from px-based to rem-based sizing, improved its grid system, and dropped IE8 support. Also, all its JS plugins were re-written in ES6, it now uses a customized reset CSS file called Reboot, and offers flexbox support via a Sass boolean variable. In addition to this update, Bootstrap now offers themes at themes.getbootstrap.com. Also, Bootstrap will continue supporting version 3, unlike the dropping of version 2 support after the release of version 3.
