Joyful Ruffle Neck Top – Tutorial
Last week I showed you the top I made for my MIL’s B-day, remember? Well today is My Mom’s B-day! So Feliz Cumpleaños Mamá!! And as part of the celebration, I will show you how to make this top! Maybe it can be the Mom’s B-day Top!! The process is not very complicated and if you are making one for yourself I will describe the measurements I took, so you can adapt them to fit you. For the top I used some left overs I had of red polka-dot Chiffon, and I wear the top with something under it because the fabric is see trough, but you can make it with your choice of fabric, so you can wear it alone. Top Front: The width for this piece is your bust, I added to my measurement 1 inch on each side for the folding, plus 1.5 inches on each side for comfort. How to Make Ruffle Butt Undies – video tutorial

Babydoll – Tutorial
Last week I show you all the Babydoll I made for our honeymoon, since I already made it and didn’t take pictures of the process, this time I draw the steps as clear as I could, hopefully you will all understand, but if not I will try to make another one, after all I can always use some extra of this I made this out of leftover chiffon and black ribbon, I burn the edges of all pieces carefully to prevent fraying – But be careful sometimes if it gets too burn you end up with a solid hard edge, not nice! The Shirt Skirt | Sew Like My Mom
July 28, 2010 I’m so excited to post about this! When I met Dana, I fell in love with the skirt she was wearing. She made it herself (obviously) and she showed us how simply she’d shirred the waistband. The next day, during the mystery workshop at Whipstitch, we were encouraged to use thrifted tees. I’m devastatingly terrified of knits so I steered clear and made my (award winning) cotton fabric dress. I developed an idea in my head I thought just might be crazy enough to work. The Hubs thought I was a little crazy when I explained my idea to him. It’s the easiest thing in the world to do! The shirt skirt perfect for summertime. I wore the green and white one to Sofie’s birthday party. I had 2 women in Walmart stop me to tell me how comfy my skirt looked and when I told them how I made it, they demanded I call Rachael Ray immediately! The process is so easy. I do my shopping at Goodwill for 1 reason. So, get your super cheap thrifted shirt. Now, I break a rule of shirring. And that’s it!

Min senaste grej är att sy trosor, jätteroligt och inte särskilt svårt! Det första paret jag sydde, sydde jag efter ett mönster från Allt om handarbete. Blev inte nöjd så jag slaktade ett par av mina favorittrosor och ritade av helt enkelt. Resultatet blev helt klart godkänt. Tänkte att jag skulle göra min första tutorial om just trossömnad. Stepping Thru Crazy: Men's Button-Up Refashion... into Ladies Tank!
A few years ago, when the hubby and I lived in Florida (this was pre-kids, so make that 5-ish years...) I bought him a button-up shirt for his work. The deal was that he had to wear blue or white button-ups, so I thought, "Why not both at the same time?" And I got him this:Apparently when he wore it to work, his boss told him he looked like a picnic basket, aaand the shirt was retired to the closet. Well, I don't care if I look like a picnic basket, so I decided to turn it into a tank top for myself! It was actually really easy to do... let me try once again to tell you how I used a sewing machine... eh.... First things first, I chopped the sleeves off. Then I slipped the shirt on and pinned in the sides so that it fit. I took off the shirt, flipped it inside out and sewed up the sides where my pins were, trimmed off the excess, flipped it rightside out again, and tried it on to make sure it fit. Then I pinned the armholes the way I wanted them... carefully......and sewed them. That's it!
BABY DOLL SUMMER STYLE
Let’s begin by folding the paper in half, lengthwise (for symmetry). At the top of the paper, square a line across from the fold. From this line, measure along the fold the finished length of the dress. For example, the finish length of the model photo is 28″. Square a line from this point across the paper from the fold. Now along each of these draftlines, measure half the hip or bust measurement plus 6 inches (whichever is larger). Join each point to create a rectangle. From line AB, make a parallel line 9 inches down the fold. Divide this line into three equal sections and label the second third, point X. Divide the distance from X to the edge in half. Join a straight line from O to D. Parallel to line AB, draft a line across from fold 1 inch. Where it intersect line X, label +. Above point D, place a set-square on the sideseam line (OD) and draw in hemline with a smooth curve blending into the line CD from the 90 degree angle. Trace off each tier for each layer of the dress. Like this:
