L’hypnose n’a rien à voir avec le sommeil, il s’agit plutôt d’un état d’hyperconcentration détendue. Les premières descriptions de l’état d’hypnose sont anciennes. Comment se déroule une hypnosédation? Une anesthésie sous hypnose n’est possible que pour certains actes chirurgicaux : des actes de petite chirurgie comme l’extraction de polypes dans le nez, de dents de sagesse ou des interventions plus sérieuses comme les opérations de chirurgie plastique et maxillo-faciale, de la thyroïde, ORL, gynécologique (hystérectomie… ). Lorsque l’acte chirurgical le permet, on propose l’hypnosédation aux patients qui redoutent l’anesthésie générale, à ceux qui désirent faire l’expérience de l’hypnosédation ou ont une contre-indication à l’anesthésie classique.
