Young Europeans may die at earlier age than their grandparents, says WHO | World news Young people across Europe may die at an earlier age than their grandparents if the region fails to curb smoking, drinking and obesity, the World Health Organisation has warned. Sugar taxes are among the measures governments should consider, says the European regional office of WHO, along with a minimum price for alcohol and subsidies on fruit and vegetables. “Certainly those in business know that price always works. Price has an impact, negatively or positively,” said João Breda, WHO Europe’s programme manager for nutrition, physical activity and obesity. “If you accept that too much sugar is bad for health – and we know that because WHO issued revised recommendations last year, where we say no more than 10% of sugar in your total calories, and it is even more advisable to limit your sugar to 5% – then countries may consider using what they find more effective to address this issue of sugar consumption. The issue of price can have a role to play and should not be seen as taboo.”

Sans entrer dans des considérations théoriques (fortes intéressantes au demeurant), je vous propose quelques petits « exercices » que je fais avec des élèves de 6ème en accompagnement personnalisé. Les élèves sont invités à circuler de manière aléatoire dans la salle en occupant la totalité de l'espace (c'est un exercice en soit mais ce n'est pas l'objet du billet, ni l'objectif du travail). 'The X-Files' Revival: David Duchovny & Gillian Anderson to Reprise Roles on Fox “The X-Files” gang is getting back together for a six-episode limited series to which Fox has formally given a series order. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be back as FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully. Series creator Chris Carter will be at the helm for 20th Century Fox TV and Ten Thirteen Productions. Production is set to begin this summer, although Fox has not yet set an air date. “I think of it as a 13-year commercial break,” Carter said. “The good news is the world has only gotten that much stranger, a perfect time to tell these six stories.” The “X-Files” revival follows last spring’s return of “24” as a 13-episode limited series. “X-Files” is a natural, as the show about FBI sleuths investigating instances of paranormal activity is tailor-made for social-media obsession — even if it hails from an earlier TV era. Fox Television Group chairs Gary Newman and Dana Walden shepherded the show on the studio side during its network run.
Squamish Valley Music Festival - August 9 & 10, 2013 - A multi-day music and arts festival Digital Journalism: The Next Generation by Michael Massing It was with great anticipation that I arrived for my appointment at the editorial offices of BuzzFeed on West 23rd Street in Manhattan. Among journalists, no other website has stirred more interest, resentment, or envy. “Why BuzzFeed Is the Most Important News Organization in the World,” ran the headline atop a recent post by a widely read tech blogger. From the start, BuzzFeed has been known for its lightweight listicles (list + article), jaunty GIFs (brief animated clips), teasing headlines, and, most of all, cute cats and dogs. After the Boston marathon bombing sent a surge of traffic to the site, BuzzFeed brought over Lisa Tozzi from The New York Times to build a breaking-news team. Arriving at BuzzFeed’s editorial offices (housed in temporary quarters while the main office is being renovated), I found two adjoining cavernous spaces filled with long tables, at which sat some two hundred people gazing at computer screens. Could that change? I could give a dozen more examples.
