Take a look! Top 10 Favorite Spelling Activities of 2012 My oldest son's natural ability to remember things means spelling comes easy to him. As a result, each week, the teacher gives him (and some other students) "the challenge list." The words are just as the title implies - challenging. I've done my best to devise fun ways for him to study. No. 1 Spelling Race When the spelling words were extra hard, this activity was my go-to.
THE FOUR SKILLS Thursday, March 22, 2012 Here are some tools that can help you build I. Listening activities 1. Acapela Productivity vs. Getting Things Done This post originally appeared on the Exist blog. I’ve been a sucker for so-called “productivity porn” for a while. I still am, to some degree, but I’ve been working hard to cure myself of this time-wasting habit and I’m getting a lot closer to that. For anyone who’s not familiar with it, my interpretation of productivity porn is pretty much anything related to productivity as a topic of interest, that doesn’t actually involve getting anything done. For me, it includes things like trying out new task managers, reading blog posts about productivity and stocking up on stationery I don’t need. I’ve known for years that this habit isn’t doing me any favors, but I’ve only recently started to shake it by enforcing some strict rules on myself.
Habitats Photos The resources below show photographs of sixteen different habitats, including deserts, mountains, coral reef, rivers and more. They are available as large posters and smaller cards. Use them in your lessons in some of the following ways: Show your children one of the photos and ask them to discuss (or find out) the different plants and animals that might live there. Describe the environment in each habitat. What is it like there? Having seen her in action as a presenter, she is very captivating and convincing. The books and articles she has authored, many of which I have read, are scholarly, well-written, and lay out a vision for excellence in teaching. In the February 2012 edition of Educational Leadership, she co-authored an article with Edwin Lou Javius titled, Teach Up for Excellence.
