Why This Is An Excellent Resume
Recruiters spend an average of six seconds reviewing a resume before they make the initial decision on candidates, according to research conducted by TheLadders, an online job-matching service for professionals. That means you have to win them over fast. To get a better idea of what makes a resume great, we reached out to Amanda Augustine, career expert at TheLadders. She created an example of an excellent resume and allowed us to share it. While resumes should be tailored to the industry you're in, the one below offers a helpful guide for entry- and mid-level professionals with three to five years of relevant work experience. DNA Doppelganger Dilemma By Robert Whiston FRSA; 21st Aug 2004; updated version 2.01: Sept 2007 Forensic DNA testing has been trumpeted as unerringly accurate. It has relied for this on the inherent “uniqueness” of DNA. It therefore comes as a shock to realise that aspects within forensic DNA testing are far from unique and far from reliable. What To Include On Your Resume Capturing someone's attention and making a great first impression in just six seconds is no easy feat. Now, imagine trying to do this without ever meeting that person. Sounds impossible, right? Well, if you're a job seeker who submits an outstanding résumé that tells your "career story" in a succinct, easy-to-follow way, it's actually very achievable. To ensure your résumé stands out (for the right reasons), there are a few things you'll want to avoid and some you'll definitely want to include, says Tina Nicolai, executive career coach and founder of Résumé Writers' Ink. "Basically employers want to see where candidates have earned, learned, and contributed."

Doppelgangers Take DNA Test to Find Out If They're Related, 'Surprised' by Results Two twin strangers from Ireland -- who never knew the other existed until two months ago -- recently took a DNA test to find out if they were related. The results "absolutely surprised" the both of them, according to Niamh Geaney, who added that she and her doppelganger Irene Adams "couldn't believe" the results. Geaney -- who's from Dublin, Ireland -- told ABC News today she first connected with Adams -- who's from Sligo, Ireland -- this past November after a friend of Adams' told her she looked like "that doppelganger girl on the news." Coincidentally, a friend of Adams' brother also contacted Geaney around the same time. "We got in touch, met up and it was absolutely surreal to see yet another one of my doppelgangers in the flesh," said Geaney, 27. She explained that Adams, 28, is actually the third doppelganger she's discovered so far since creating Twin Strangers, a website and tool that uses facial recognition software to match you to a potential lookalike.

Bad CV Examples CV Advice The internet has changed the focus of a job search and just because your CV is nice on paper, it doesn't mean it's nice on a computer. With stacks of CVs arriving in hiring managers' inboxes every day, they quickly grow to loathe some of the things they see. If you don't want your CV to be discarded, take heed of these things to avoid. Best Job Interview Questions Faced with one pointed question after the next regarding your career, a job interview can quickly take on the feel of an interrogation. But employers aren't the only ones who get to poke and pry during the sit-down. At some point, job candidates can make inquiries that flesh out everything from expectations to why their prospective boss enjoys working for the company.
