Vous appréciez Windows 8 et ses nombreuses nouveautés mais peut être moins l’ergonomie de son interface Metro. Dans ce cas, vous pouvez désactiver totalement Metro ou alors simplement faire en sorte que votre session s’ouvre directement en affichant le bureau. De cette façon, vous pourrez utilisez des raccourcis placez sur votre bureau standard pour lancer vos appli préférez tout en conservant la possibilité d’appeler Metro au besoin. Pour configurer l’ouverture de session avec le bureau par défaut, pressez les touches Windows +X. Dans le menu contextuel qui s’affiche sélectionnez « Gestion de l’ordinateur ». Dans la fenêtre qui apparait, déployer l’arborescence suivante: Observateur d’évènements > journaux Windows > Application. Recherchez ensuite dans la liste, l’entrée « Winlogon » portant l’ID 6000 puis faire un clique droit dessus, sélectionnez « Joindre une tâche à cet élément ».

ExtFS : les partitions Linux en lecture/écriture depuis Windows Paragon Software vient de lancer un nouvel outil gratuit destiné aux utilisateurs de Windows et qui permet à ces derniers d'accéder aux partitions Ext2, Ext3 et Ext4 utilisées par le système Linux. Gros avantage de ExtFS for Windows, ce soft permet de lire les fichiers de ces partitions, mais aussi d'écrire des données dessus (avec prise en charge des caractères non latins). Nécessitant Windows XP a minima, Paragon Software utilise sa technologie UFSD - pour Universal File System Driver - dans ce logiciel. A noter que Paragon propose également d'autres outils du même genre, et notamment NTFS & HFS for Linux, qui comme son nom l'indique permet aux utilisateurs du système libre d'accéder aux partitions NTFS et HFS+. Sans oublier d'autres produits, payants cette fois-ci, comme NTFS ou ExtFS for Mac OS X, ou encore HFS+ for Windows. Des solutions généralement vendus entre 20 et 40 dollars.
