iPad Air bursts into flames in Australia store Apple is investigating what caused an iPad to "explode" in an Australian Vodafone store, prompting a store evacuation, a spokesman from the Vodafone said today. A display model of the iPad caught on fire while the tablet was attached to the iPad charging port, Vodafone Australia spokesman Geeke van der Sluis said in an email. The Canberra Vodafone store filled with smoke as sparks continued to appear from the charging port after the initial explosion, prompting a call to the fire brigade and a store evacuation. No one was injured. The incident happened on 30 October, van der Sluis said, two days before the device was made available for in-store and online purchase in Australia. In photos posted online by Daily Mail, the iPad'd Retina screen appears warped and singed from the flames. Apple did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Make a DIY Modern Concrete Fire Pit from Scratch | Man Made DIY | Crafts for Men | Keywords: 3M, diy, outdoor, how-to There's no doubt about the cheer. Beside your fire you live in a private, glowing little world. All around you, fire shapes dance across rocks and bushes and tree trunks...Most of the time, you just sit and gaze at the caverns that form and crumble and then form again and gaze into the caverns that form and crumble and then form again between the incandescent logs. Colin Fletcher, "The Complete Walker IV" (Knopf, NY: p. 288) I don't think there's much more to say than that. The Bedside Bookmark Abode...Or, How to Make a Tiny, Adorable Wooden House Curbly-Original There are a few things that simply seem to belong on a bedside table: a lamp, alarm clock, perhaps a pair of glasses, and a few magazines or books. Then, once you add a few personal items (mine usually include a crossword puzzle or two and a glass of water), and there's not a lot of extra space for any accessories or "decor" items. So, I wanted to make something to add a little bit of fun and style, but that doesn't take up too much prime nightstand real estate or interfere with the other items. And so, you see the results above: an alternative take on the bookmark (which I never seem to use anyway), in the form of a clean, Scandinavian-style wooden home. If using it to support your books isn't your thing, no worries. 1) I began with a 4" x 6" x 14" block of reclaimed wood (basswood, I think) that I found in the scrap aisle of my local Habitat for Humanity Restore. ...and come up with a nice, square usuable block: 2. Then, I cut the out the roof shape: 3. 4. How fun!

The Ghost Inside My Child - Paranormal Documentary ipad cover tutorial We recently bought a new iPad 2 for work and I was floored at the prices of covers…..I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much. My husband’s friend Walker jokes that his composition notebook is his “low-tech iPad” because it is exactly the same size…..so it gave me an idea. I would make a cover for our new iPad out of one of the old composition notebooks I had sitting around. Turns out it was pretty easy using the box my iPad came in, some hair elastics and a notebook with the pages removed. Here is how I made an easy, inexpensive iPad cover: Photo 1 & 2: I took a razor blade and cut out the pages…..this composition book was on its last leg so they basically fell out.Photo 3 & 4: I removed the plastic insert from the box that the iPad came in and marked the height of the notebook for reference on the side. Photo 13, 14, 15 & 16: I took 2 black elastic hair bands and sewed each onto one corner at two points using needle and thread. An iPad cover for $2.99. Comments comments
