Teaching with Roald Dahl – Speakeasy News Roald Dahl’s books are popular with young readers and adults alike. In this his centenary year, why not put some Dahl magic into your teaching? Most pupils know at least some of his works, whether from books or the popular film adaptations. The site dedicated to Roald Dahl, his museum and story centre, and charity, is a mine of treasures for teaching with his books. The site has lesson plans for all the children’s stories. Another option is to use the Stories menu and find all sorts of little nuggets, including recorded extracts. To work on Dahl’s life, the Timeline conveniently provides two levels of reading – one sentence per entry or a longer text. You can find three graduated articles on Roald Dahl’s life and work (A1+, A2 and B1) in the Banque de ressources anglais cycle 4. For more about the centenary, see our article. Time to Party To organise a party for Roald Dahl Day on 13 September, you can sign up to receive a free party pack.
