Riverstone necklace This Riverstone necklace is very comfortable to wear. The warm and heavy feeling of gemstones makes this one of my favorite necklaces. The different sizes of the beads gives it a natural curve, and drapes it beautifully around the neck. And the best of all....it is very easy to make. The stitch used is Right angle weave, two needle variation. Techniques de perles Step 1 Leave the pearl cotton yarn on the spool. Thread the end through a twisted wire needle. Twisted wire needles are flexible, and although the eye looks big, it will collapse down when pulled through a bead. Use the needle to string all of the beads you will need for the project. Step 2

Paper beads By Kate on October 30, 2010 I made these paper beads a while ago and dug them out the other day for my eldest son to play with. At three and a half he’s grown out of playing with his chunky threading beads – so these were the perfect replacement. They are so easy to make and surprisingly sturdy. How to Create Concentric Circles, Ellipses, Cardioids & More Using Straight Lines and a Circle Using only a circle and straight lines, it's possible to create many different curves that are quite pleasing to look at and well known mathematically. Most of the curves that are going to be explored in this post are featured at this site, which has a program for generating them, and this site which explores some of the geometry used in creating these curves. I recommend exploring both of them if you are going to create any of the designs below. I created all of these with a pencil and a ruler, or with the free computer program Geogebra.

This lovely little necklace had a price tag of $850...seriously! The froo*gal has managed to recreate the original for under $15.

Tutorial: Easy Tiny Envelopes Guest tutorial by Ruth Bleakley I discovered this envelope making method completely by accident when pulling soggy rain-soaked mail out of my leaky mailbox - I had a total *eureka* moment when the envelope I gingerly opened up completely unfolded at the seams revealing an envelope "template" perfectly. I've seen many envelope tutorials online, some offer downloadable templates, some show fancy paper folding techniques and some suggest specific measurements to create your own D.I.Y. envelopes. I'm going to show you how to replicate any interesting envelope that you might already have, no measuring involved! Click below for the how-to: 1.
