Crocheted Produce Bag
Well, I thought since the produce bag was something I just made up real quick I should post the pattern. I am sure there are way better ones out there, but most of them end up decreasing at the end to get a smaller opening, but I wanted mine large so leafy stuff that I buy in multiple little bunches could poke out, like baby broccoli or bok choy. So here is the pattern, just in case you want to make a couple as well. Materials: 1 skein Lion Brand Organic Cotton Yarn (#680), or similar worsted weight yarn Size I-9 Crochet Hook Little scrap of fabric (optional) Rnd 1: Begin with an adjustable loop, and crochet 12 double crochet (dc) into the loop and pull tight. Rnd 2: *Chain 7, skip 1 dc and slip stitch in next dc.* Repeat around. Rnd 3: Chain 7, Slip stitch (slst) into 4th chain (ch) of round 2. Rnd 4: Ch 7, slst into the point where the last two rounds meet, then ch 7 and slst into the 4th ch of the last round as well. Rnd 16: Single crochet (sc) in every chain around, join with a slst.

Bobbles
Inspiration for Bobbles came from this bag. Needless to say, it has a lot of bobbles which may not be to everyone,s liking, but I had never crochet these before so I enjoyed doing it. Also I have to carry around a lot of baby stuff, so I thought it was a classier way to carry it. Crochet part was not very hard but writing down the pattern was. I made the handles myself. Material:· Acrylic yarn (light fingering) off-white ( I used three strands throughout)· Crochet hook size 4.5 mm· Fabric for lining· Cardboard for bottom· One zipper· A pair of purse handles (I made mine myself) Size: approx. 13 inches in height and 16 inches in width Drawstring with tassels: Using 6 strands of yarn, chain a desired length of drawstring.

Using US #6/4mm needle, CO 133[144] sts, placing a marker every 22[24] sts. Note: For the smaller size only, there will be 23 sts after the last marker, instead of 22. Also for the smaller size only, omit the yo at the beginning of the first row. K1 instead. Work Row 1 of chart pattern using US #2/2.75mm circular needle. Work Rounds 2-10 of chart pattern. Round 11: Remove marker, k1, replace marker, work Round 11 of chart pattern. Work Rounds 12-13 of chart pattern. Round 14: Remove marker, k1, replace marker, work Round 14 of chart pattern. Work Rounds 15-16 of chart pattern. Round 17: [K7; (drop 2 wraps from W3 and slip remaining wrap to right needle) 3 times, k to marker] 6 times. 108[126] sts.At this point, the sts which had been wrapped 3 times in Round 16 will look very long and loose. Rounds 18-23: [K7, sl 3 elongated sts, k to marker] 6 times. Brim pattern is complete.

So, a couple weeks ago I showed a glimpse of the knitting chart I was working on. I finally took the time to make a little tutorial and explain the way I did it. I hope it’s clear enough, or feel free to ask your questions ! (Click for larger pics !!) This one will be the lace pattern used in the Isabeau purse pattern. I start with creating a table in an Excell-type software (Im using the freeware OpenOffice Calc, here with a french version). First, select all the area of your future chart, go to format/columns/width and decrease the witdth of the columns (I chose 0,53 cm) to create nearly-square cells. Select the area of your future chart, color it in a light color of you choice. Number the rows and stitches, starting at bottom right corner of chart. Then the “real work” starts. Then I copy the “repeat” of my lace pattern below, in another colored area. The chart is nearly ready.
