Maxscript 101 - Free Online Training The creator of Maxscript (John Wainwright) has made his previously commercial training DVD available for free on Vimeo! It's broken up into easy to watch chunks and even though it's a bit dated it remains one of the best introductions to MAXScript available. A sincere thanks from the ScriptSpot community to John Wainwright for releasing his incredibly valuable training series for free and to our very own "Garp" for putting in the time to get the video split into sections & uploaded. MAXScript 101 is a digital video-based introductory course for MAXScript, the scripting language in Autodesk's 3ds max®, gmax® and VIZ 3D applications, designed and presented by MAXScript's creator, John Wainwright. The course teaches the fundamentals of scripting and provides an introduction to the main features of the language and how they can be used to perform tasks like scene generation, animation, material mapping, mesh export, etc. and how to build these into tools with custom dialog windows. 3ds Max 5+

Character Rigging 25 Oct 2010 This is the fourth tutorial in my four part series dealing with character animation. These tutorials are targeted for beginners wanting to learn the basics of modeling, uvw mapping, texturing, rigging, and creating a cute 3d monster. Step 1 What is Character Rigging? In 3d animation, character rigging means the process of preparing the character for animation. Step 2 Facial Animation and Morpher The Morpher modifier is commonly used for lip sync and facial animation. Step 3 Creating Morph Targets Let’s create the morph targets for our character: Go to the front viewport and clone the monster ( Press and hold SHIFT in keyboard and move the monster ). Now we have one morph target and that’s enough for the sake of this tutorial. Step 4 Using the Morpher Modifier to Animate Facial Expressions Now select the original monster model and try the Morpher modifier: Tip: Turn ‘Use Limits’ off in the ‘Global Parameters’ rollout to go beyond the 0-100 range. Next we’ll create the arm bones.
