The Secret Behind a Great Person A while ago I found a YouTube video of Josh Groban singing Vincent. It’s a beautiful song and the performance was also beautiful. I loved it. But then I got interested in what the song was about. The song is about a 19th-century Dutch painter named Vincent van Gogh. Unfortunately, the painter himself didn’t enjoy all the fame and wealth that his paintings generate. Moreover, he went through a lot of difficulties in his life. Considering the phenomenal fame of his work later on, it’s tragic. But I found something interesting: despite all the difficulties in his life, he still managed to create a lot of great paintings. The answer is that he had a strong supporter, his younger brother Theo. Unlike his older brother, Theo van Gogh isn’t famous. Theo was a constant supporter of Vincent throughout all his difficulties. Packing was not easy because there were so many things that were meaningful to me but of course I couldn’t take them all. However, the hardest part was still ahead. I had two choices: to hold on to my past, complain, and be completely miserable or let go of everything that was no longer relevant and start a new life while still holding on to my authentic self. You may not have had to go through such drastic changes in life. A lot of times if we are not forced to let go of something we keep dragging 10, 20, 40 years of mental and physical baggage behind us. Don’t hop out of bed in a rush – take your time and roll over onto your side, bring your knees up to your chest, let your feet roll over the side of the bed and then have a good stretch! As a nation we tend to shower in very hot water… if you can bare to do this – you will feel so energized for the rest of the day – turn the shower slowly to cool… have 30 seconds at the end of your shower in cold water – you will get out of the shower feeling fantastic! Breakfast like a King and do not rush it. Try and get some exercise on your way to work – walk, cycle, run… Not possible for all of us, but if you have to drive, park your car at the other side of the office car park and walk those few extra steps to get the heart going. If you get tired and lethargic after lunch, you need to try food combining… what does this mean?
