Mon Bébé Chéri | Blog bébé - anniversaire un an - photos enfant, famille, grossesse - photos de bébé - chambre bébé - baby shower Charming Clay Flowers Tutorial I have to admit that I’m one of those moms who enjoys playing play dough with my daughter. I find it fun and relaxing to sit down and create with it and then smoosh it up and put it away. There’s no agenda, it’s fun to squoosh in between your fingers, and the colors are pretty. Every now and then we also get clay, the more grown up version of play dough. My daughter got a pack with some pretty colors and I got some plain ole white. Aren’t they just so elegant looking? Originally I was just going to make the brooch, but then I had extra leftover and thought a pair of earrings would be lovely as well. I’m sure by now you are ready to find out how to make them! -Clay (the kind you bake to harden it)-Something for the center (I used a vintage earring on the brooch and a small bead on the earrings)-Wax paper-Pan to bake it in-A strong glue (I used E-600, industrial strength glue)-Clay glaze (I used Sculpey Glaze from Micheal’s)-Desired backing (earring backs, pin back, etc)

Spring Flower Lollipops Happy first day of spring! To celebrate I've made a special treat for you with colorful spring flowers. I've been enamored with edible flowers ever since making candied rose petals earlier this year. By doing a little research (that includes taste-testing) I've found that just because a flower is non-poisonous, doesn't mean it is also yummy. That's why I'm sharing my list of favorite edible flowers. They are all fairly well-known (easy to find) and add a certain something when used sparingly in dessert. Basil ChamomileHibiscus (you can also find these at specialty markets -or online -packed in syrup!) I made these without the use of a lollipop mold, and if you make these - do yourself a favor and buy an inexpensive round lollipop mold. Edit 3/28/12: Check out this cute version using decorative quins (sprinkles) by Karen at Trilogy Edibles! Spring Flower Lollipops 2 cups sugar 2/3 cup corn syrup 2/3 cup water 1 dram bottle candy flavoring oil (such as LorAnn, I used Blackberry)

LorAnn flavors: Lolly, lolly, lolly, get your flavors here First of all, bravo if you are now singing the adverb song from School House Rock. Way to kick it old school. Second, sorry if the song gets stuck in your head all day, it just had to be done. I did it because I want you to be thinking about flavors all day long. Because lately I find I’ve been forgetting about them. Here in the test kitchen there are no less than four places that we keep stashes of LorAnn flavors. *Add a few drops to icing, glaze or cookie dough. *Add 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon to cake batter or quick bread/ muffin batter. *Add a few drops to your favorite fruit smoothie. *Add 1/2 teaspoon to your favorite ice cream base to create new one-of-a-kind flavors in your own kitchen. *Add a drop to melted chocolate before you dip fruit in it. *Add a few drops to homemade playdough. *Add 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon to stabilized whipped cream for a mousse cake or pie filling. * Add 1/8 teaspoon to one cup of sugar or salt and mix well. *Freshen up the house for the holidays.
