DIY Dry Shampoo for Light or Dark Hair Dry shampoos have been all the rage among some of my friends lately, and I can understand why… A product that makes your hair look clean when it hasn’t been washed in the past three days that day is a tremendous help, especially for those of us with little ones who are lucky if we get to use the bathroom alone, much less shower every day… Dry shampoos are also great if you’re switching to “no-poo” or homemade natural shampoo , which will often leave your hair oily for the first week or so while your scalp adjusts to not having its natural oils stripped each day. Personally, I have naturally oily hair even when I don’t strip the oils, so I am a huge fan of dry shampoo. (On the upside, relatives with the same naturally oily hair haven’t started going gray until their 60s or 70s, so I have that going for me…) A wet-dry shampoo uses the same concept, but puts the oil absorbing substance in a quickly evaporating liquid like vodka or rubbing alcohol (or Rum if you like to smell like a pirate…)

3 Simple Homemade Lip Balms - Your Lips've Never Been Yummier Three Amigo Lip Balms Waiting for a homemade lip balm to set up is a little like developing a Polaroid. You stand there and watch. And then you touch. And then you curse, because it wasn’t quite dry and you screwed up the pristine look. And then you watch. So my first recommendation when making your own homemade lip balm: Pour it in your container and walk away. Seriously. These are the three homemade lip balm recipes that I’ve enjoyed the most over the past couple of years. One is made with lavender essential oil, one has a main ingredient of coconut oil, and the last … well, it’s peppermint-chocolatey goodness. Now, with all these recipes, you can substitute whatever essential oils you have on hand (or prefer). This recipe uses honey, which gives the balm a heavenly taste. Note: This lip balm is relatively soft, but I think it would hold up just fine if you wanted to pour it in a clean lip balm tube. Luscious Lavender Lip Balm Recipe More About the Color It was lovely! Lip Gloss DIY and Printable Labels - girl. Inspired. I came across a multitude of DIY lip gloss recipes on Pinterest and dedicated an afternoon to make some of my own. I was intrigued by the idea that I could make lip gloss with just petroleum jelly and a single additive, things I had on hand. But, after experimenting for a bit, I found myself curious about other additives and ingredients, and ultimately, I ran out to purchase just a couple ingredients to make some awesome all-natural lip balm. Today, I’m sharing some of the lip gloss variations that I tried! In the suppy list above, you’ll see a variety of supplies and ingredients you can use to make a VARIETY of recipes. Using Petroleum Jelly (or Vaseline) as lip gloss base: I loved how quick and easy it was to use Vaseline right out of my cabinet. Additives: Kool-Aid method – stir in packaged Kool-Aid powder – I had NO success with this method. In the above picture, you can see a good variety of the finished lip gloss/lip balms. 13 Hacks to Improve Your Google Search Even the king of all search engines can be throttled up with a few simple tricks. From finding flights to discovering new music, here are 13 ways to hack Google. Ever since the Internet's dozens of Web crawlers (AltaVista, anyone?) were whittled down to a single alpha engine, pinpointing your online destination has been a relative breeze. Type in “set timer for” followed by a number of minutes, or a specific hour you’d like an alert, and Google will graciously comply with an obnoxious beeping once the moment has arrived. Sometimes a memory lapse leaves you searching for the right word. To encompass a wider definition than you’re currently searching for, add a “~” in front of the word, and Google will pull up results from similar terms as well. Instead of slogging through your airline’s website, just type in your flight number and get an easy look at all the important stuff: flight status, times, terminal, and gate. Skip doing math in your head and punch in the units you want to convert.

Homemade Kiss Gloss During a girls weekend last week, my daughter Becca got it in her head that we should make homemade lipgloss. She wanted something fancy to share with the cousins for the holidays. So we tromped it to two craft stores and one grocery store and pulled together everything we needed to make a half dozen batches of holiday flavored lip gloss. Ca-ute, right? We grabbed a bunch of bead organizers for our lip gloss containers at JoAnn. Oil based candy flavoring and a few drops of our favorite essential oils (lemon, peppermint, ginger) offered up some super rad flavors. My favorite is butter rum. The labels were created from 1 1/2″ round Avery stickers. In other news, I consoled myself through the Thanksgiving stomach flu with Netflix episodes of Sister Wives. Inexcusable. You’re gonna need soft lips for all the gossip we’ll be chatting over now that I’m in the know with my new favorite show. Go put on lip gloss. P.S.
What are the F1 through F12 keys? Commonly known as function keys on a computer keyboard, F1 through F12 may have a variety of different uses or no use at all. The operating system installed on the computer and the software program currently open can change how each of these keys operate. A program is capable of not only using each of the function keys, but also combining the function keys with the ALT or CTRL key. Note: Some keyboards include additional functions on the function keys, which can be activated by pressing the FN key, usually located near the CTRL key, and the appropriate function key. Tip: Some computers may automatically enable the FN key for accessing the special functions on the F1 through F12 keys. If your keyboard does not have a row of function keys, they are probably set up as secondary functions on other keys. Below is a listing of some of the more common functions of the functions keys for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft applications, as well as some for Mac OS.
