Treasures Made From Yarn: Friendship Shawl I could not think up of a name for this shawl. I made this shawl for my church. Most of stash now comes from the free yarn that is given away at my church, so I thought it would be a good ideal to make a shawl for their prayer shawl program. So now onto the pattern. I have many vintage craft magazines and I came across a picture of this cute pattern. Except when I read the pattern, it did not made sense. So I figured out how to make the pattern and now here is the instructions for my shawl. 16 ounces Worst Weight Yarn Size J hook Row 1: Chain 67, sc in the second chain from hook, sc in remaining chains across. About two years ago, I wrote a blog entry about the “Perfect” Crochet Rose. That entry has gotten so many views and comments (thank you for those!), and it has been linked on several other blogs. Because of this confusing mess of patterns and alteration patters, I’ve decided to make a somewhat clearer post about the Strip Method Crochet Rose -pattern, with additional photos, in case anyone wishes to recreate the exact “perfect” crochet rose featured here. Abbreviations: Materials: Yarn: I used Novita’s crochet yarn for this particular rose. Hook: Depending on thickness (weight) of your yarn, use whichever hook suitable. And a needle to stitch it all up! Instructions: Note 1: You can either leave a long tail of yarn at the start or at the finish of the rose (or both ends), to stitch the strip of petals together. Row 1: Make as many chains as you wish, in order to create a rose the size you wish. For this example rose: make 118ch. (You should have 39 V-shapes at the end of row 1.)

Free knitting patterns I knit this stocking flat A) because I don't enjoy knitting in the round andB) because I think it gives greater flexibility in working fairisle and other intarsia designs. I tend to work it on double pointed needles because during heel shaping you need to switch from working one side to the other. You can knit it on regular needles but slide the work across onto a second needle at appropriate time. Apart from the stocking top it is worked in stocking stitch (knit on right side and purl on reverse) Materials:oddments of yarn. Cast on 25 sts, **(27 if knitting one of the stranded designs charted below)rows 1 - 3: knitrow 4: (right side) begin pattern from charts below (if required)work a total of 14 rows of pattern ending with a wrong side row. s Crochet & Crafts: Free Crochet Pattern ~Kaleidoscope Dream Circle Vest I LOVE THIS YARN! It is called: Bernat Mosaic, the colour is 'Psychedelic'. I love everything about this yarn. I can crochet for hours and feel confident, as it worked perfect with my chosen hook, and in my hands. The colour change was spectacular and kept my eyes dancing as I was able to see clearly each stitch I had previously made.I loved it so much I even ordered more Bernat Mosaic in other colours.Note: When fastening off, or tying knots, be sure not to pull too hard as the ends will sometimes break shorter than anticipated, making weaving in ends a bit harder. Free Crochet Patterns and Designs by LisaAuch: How to Crochet The Star Stitch and Crochet a Warm Cosy Blanket I came across a pattern for a baby blanket using the "star stitch" not only had I never heard of this crochet stitch before, but I had never tried it. SO I taught myself a new stitch. The star stitch is also known (as I have since found out and hence probably why I haven't hear of it before) the Margarite stitch, daisy stitch and star stitch. Very easy to pick up and not only makes a beautiful stitch and pattern, it is lovely to work, especially in nice thick Aran Yarn. I made a lapghan for my Uncle. The star stitch is in multiples of two +5 So I would chain 105 to start Explanation of star stitch Star Stitch. Row 1. Row2: sc in next stitch, sc in eye of previous star made, sc. continue working in this manner to end. Repeat rows 1 and 2 There seems to be some variations of the stich, some books I read say to 3 sc into the eye of the previous rows star. Are you better at Video tutorials to learn how to crochet your stitches. Chain 165 Weave in all the loose ends, neatly. Blanket Border.
