Using the Hell out of your Digital Camera Evidence for the Defense Occasionally, I find myself in a less-than-lawful situation. For example, if the marked crosswalk looks dangerous or flooded, and I cross the street somewhere else, I do so with an eye towards my legal defense. To ease my mind, I will often take a photo of the offending situation, to show as evidence in the supremely unlikely circumstance that I end up in court. Other situations which warrant a little documentation: 1. This time, we are going to be looking at open source media systems. This is going to be a mix of media centers , media servers , and HTPC setups. I’ve done a lot of digging and I think that I will be covering pretty much every single major package out there. Just what are these things? So sit back and relax. If you found this post useful, why don't you buy me a cup of coffee to show your gratitude?

10 useful video sites to teach you new tech skills | News | Tech A picture is worth a thousand words. Therefore, a video should be worth a thousand pictures. Right? A video tutorial is a great way to learn a new skill because you can see rather than imagine. Here are 10 video sites that will improve your tech knowledge, starting from amateur tips and tricks at the top, to more advanced techniques and tech skills towards the bottom of the list. 1. Basic tasks like connecting your laptop to a TV cannot be easier with the unique, informative, structured and humorous video tutorials at Videojug. The sheer simplicity in the videos along with the cheesy voice and acting of the Videojug staff is sure to keep you entertained throughout your learning process. There are numerous articles, but this site is aimed at beginners and hobbyists rather than pros, so it's probably a good one to suggest to less tech savvy friends who could benefit from learning how to clean a laptop, install more memory and speak geek (yes, it's now a language). 2. 3. 4. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10.

Back to Basics: Your Task List - Stepcase Lifehack Everyone makes a task list (or “todo list”) at least now and again. Usually, we wait until we’re overwhelmed with stuff to do, and then we’ll sit down and list everything we need to get done in the next day or two. Then, one by one, we go through the items on our list, do them, and cross them off. We do this because it feels better when we do. Until the next time we’re overwhelmed. We make todo lists when we’re under pressure because they work. Your brain is for doing Todo lists are important because every unfinished task you’ve made a commitment to causes stress. That’s why it feels so good to write that task list – your brain lets out a sigh of relief, knowing that now, at least, it doesn’t have to try to keep track of all that stuff. Of Paper and Processors Your todo list doesn’t have to be anything fancy. I have a section of the same notebook I use for capture that I use to list tasks; it’s marked with a Post-it Tab Divider. [Action verb][task] for [project or goal] For example:

Tackle Any Issue With a List of 100 The List of 100 is a powerful technique you can use to generate ideas, clarify your thoughts, uncover hidden problems or get solutions to any specific questions you’re interested in. The technique is very simple in principle: state your issue or question in the top of a blank sheet of paper and come up with a list of one hundred answers or solutions about it. “100 Ways to Generate Income”, “100 Ways to be More Creative” or “100 Ways to Improve my Relationships” are some examples. “One hundred entries? Isn’t that way too many?” Bear with me: it’s exactly this exaggeration that makes the technique powerful. When starting your list you may believe that there’s no way to get it done. Unlike the related Idea Quota tool — whose primary goal is to acquire the habit of coming up with ideas — the goal of a List of 100 is to take your mind by surprise. Ground Rules There are only two simple principles to keep in mind when making Lists of 100: 1. 2. The Dynamics of Making Lists of 100 1. 2. 3.
