Programmer's Notepad
I intend to release Programmer’s Notepad 2.3 as the new stable release towards the end of this week. One late bug fix has added a new string, so all translations need at least this one minor update. Some haven’t been updated in a while, so need a larger update. Currently 2.3 will ship with the following languages in the installer/portable package: Simplified-Chinese British English Hungarian Romanian German Russian Spanish All translation files are stored in the Programmer’s Notepad Translations project, using a Mercurial repository.

What was once an unusual profession transferred into a word indicating social awkwardness. As time has gone on, the word has yet again morphed to indicate a new type of individual: someone who is obsessive over one (or more) particular subjects, whether it be science, photography, electronics, computers, media, or any other field. A geek is one who isn’t satisfied knowing only the surface facts, but instead has a visceral desire to learn everything possible about a particular subject. A techie geek is usually one who knows a little about everything, and is thus the person family and friends turn to whenever they have a question. If you’re that type of person and are looking for a few extra skills to pick up, or if you’re a newbie aiming to get a handhold on the honor that is geekhood, read on to find out what skills you need to know.

Simple CSS - HostM.com Web Hosting Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is a good way to specify the styles of fonts and other page elements on your sites. It makes it easier for you to update styles too, because when done right, you only need to make a single change to update the styles on multiple pages and elements. Another bonus is that your visitor's browser needs to load less data per page, helping you reduce your data transfer usage while serving the same information. That means you'll be able to accommodate more site visitors without having to spend more on data transfer. 99 of the best Windows freeware programs you may not know of Because of the popularity of my previous article on Help Desk Geek entitled 99 ways to make your computer blazingly fast, I’ve decided to write another list post with 99 items, but this time on Windows freeware programs that you may have not heard of. If you search for “best freeware programs” or “top freeware apps”, you’ll get lots of lists, but mostly with programs everyone has already heard of: AVG anti-virus, 7-zip, Firefox, OpenOffice, etc, etc. That’s all nice and fine, but what about all those little gems programs that work great, but don’t get all the headlines? In this article, I will try my best to mention as many small name freeware programs as I can that can help make you more productive! As usual, I write for both Help Desk Geek and for Online Tech Tips, so I will be linking to old posts throughout if I’ve written about it or else I will link out to the main website for the program. These are written in no particular order!
