Protesters Interrupt Obama to Sing Support for Bradley Manning | Threat Level Updated at 4:10 p.m to identify the female protester who led the song. Protesters supporting WikiLeaks suspect Bradley Manning managed to infiltrate a private fundraiser for President Barack Obama on Thursday morning in San Francisco, interrupting his remarks with a song. As Obama was speaking at the $5,000-a-plate breakfast fundraiser, California activist Naomi Pitcairn (above), sitting at one of the tables, began humming and singing a modified version of the song "Where's Our Change?", decrying Manning's treatment in prison. Pitcairn removed her blazer and shirt to reveal a T-shirt with a picture of the young Army intelligence analyst who is suspected of leaking a massive cache of classified and sensitive documents to the secret-spilling site WikiLeaks. As the rest of the group at Pitcairn's table joined in with her song, they held up signs that read "Free Bradley Manning". "Each of us brought you $5,000 – we'll vote for you in 2012, yes that's true. Dear Mr. Photo: Logan Price

Ten Mindful Ways to Use Social Media For the last two years, I have provided a daily wisdom quote through a Twitter account called Tiny Buddha. Since the follower count has grown by leaps and bounds, people have suggested I tweet more often throughout the day. I’ve realized, however, that the greatest lesson we can all learn is that less is enough. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 10. Mais qu’a exactement déclaré Churchill le 11 novembre 1947 devant la Chambre des Communes : Democracy is the worst form of government –except for all those other forms, that have been tried from time to time.

Social Media Today | The 39 Social Media Tools I’ll Use Today Amazingly, it seems like there's more social media tools than Jonas brothers, with the gap growing every day. I don't feel the need to experiment with every new piece of software that emerges from its chrysalis, but I do feel a responsibility to you and my clients to have some idea of what's out there and what's worthwhile. Also, at my social media speaking engagements hither and yon I'm often asked what tools I use. Twitter Tweetdeck I use Tweetdeck for serious twitter sessions. Tweetie This extremely intuitive Mac-only app is my hour-to-hour choice for Twitter. Objective Marketer This power-user Twitter app is the preferred vehicle for Guy Kawasaki. We Are the 99 Percent 14th October 2013 Question with 172 notes Anonymous asked: How can you claim to speak for 99% of people? We don’t claim to speak for anyone, we merely present stories. 14th October 2013 Photo with 186 notes I am 23 years old I am a female (not that it should make a difference, but apparently in our society it does…) From the day I moved out of my parent’s house, I’ve supported myself 100%, not because they don’t love me but because they can’t support my dreams financially. For over two years I schlepped 2-for-1’s and shots to pay for my rent, a used car, and tuition at a community college. Now I’m attending the University of MN and I depleted all of my savings just so I wouldn’t have to take out a loan this semester. I’m majoring in journalism, a profession I consider a civic duty. I am the 99%. occupywallst.org 14th October 2013 Question with 12 notes Anonymous asked: We are the 99 percent- Why don't we RECALL these extremist NUTS that are in Washington, DC.??!!!! 9th September 2013 Thank you!

The Three C’s of Social Networking: Consumption, Curation, Creation Over the years, social networks have lured us from the confines of our existing realities into a new genre of digital domains that not only captivated us, but fostered the creation of new realities. As George Bernard Shaw observed, “Life is not about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.” Such is true for social networks and the digital persona and resulting experiences we create and cultivate. On Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, et al., we were attracted by the promise of reigniting forgotten relationships and enamored by the sparking of new connections. With each new connection we wove, we were compelled to share details about ourselves that we might not have divulged in real life. Our concerns of privacy or the lack thereof, now requires education. The Social Genome The activity that defines the social web is as diverse as its personalities of its inhabitants. Two and a half years ago, Forrester introduced Social Technographics.
