There are many good reasons to professionally service durable film cameras, lenses, mid-price to high-end digital cameras, flashes, VHS camcorders and digital camcorders. In an uncertain economy, amateurs, video buffs and pro photographers choose camera repair instead of buying the latest model, saving hundreds of dollars. Many film cameras from 1970 into the 1990s are well-made from materials like brass and steel, and can be repaired. Photography | Photo Editor | Photography Tips – FroKnowsPhoto.com Canon Rumors LearnMyShot Photo Strobe Trigger Voltages Some strobes (and infrared strobe triggers) use high voltages in the trigger circuit. For mechanical cameras, this is fine — but many newer, electronically-driven cameras (especially electronic 35mm SLRs like the EOS or digicams — or for that matter, EOS digicams, like the 300D) can be damaged by excessive strobe voltages. How much is too much? Cameras Canon US has verified (to me, and here) that the Powershot G doesn't like voltages over 6V. Similarly, Nikon has specified 12V for their speedlight circuits... Marco Fortin-Metzgen checked with Olympus Europe on his C4040 — that digicam has a trigger voltage of 10V, so Olympus too recommends strobe triggering in the 3V to 6V range. Pentax users may want to read this related story from Gene Poon. Ron Alexander claims his Fuji is astonishingly tolerant of high voltages... interesting (This has since been verified by Rob Scrimgeour of the FujiGroup.net forum — their members got a message from Fuji also stating the 400V center pin limit).

Photography For the image obtained, see Photograph. Lens and mounting of a large-format camera Photography is the science, art and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film.[1] Photography is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing (e.g. photolithography) and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, recreational purposes, and mass communication. Etymology[edit] The word "photography" was created from the Greek roots φωτός (phōtos), genitive of φῶς (phōs), "light"[2] and γραφή (graphé) "representation by means of lines" or "drawing",[3] together meaning "drawing with light". Several people may have coined the same new term from these roots independently. History[edit] Precursor technologies[edit] A camera obscura used for drawing images Photography is the result of combining several technical discoveries.
Canon EOS 7D Review Review based on a production Canon EOS 7D, firmware v1.0.9 Canon's X0D series was, for many years, essentially the default choice for keen enthusiasts, professionals and aspiring-professionals who wanted top-level image quality and functionality without the bulk (or price) of a pro-level camera such as the 1D series. The 10D, 20D and 30D were hugely successful and popular cameras, and you didn't have to spend long shooting with them to understand why. However, like every other sector of the DSLR market, there are some very competitive rivals, in terms of both price and features. Cameras such as Sony's A700 and Nikon's D200 and 300 have meant the most recent X0D EOSs have been held to higher standards and have found it a little harder to stand-out. Which brings us to the 7D, a camera that seems determined to wrestle back the king of APS-C crown. Key features Show all listings (13) ...

Chaplin became a worldwide icon through his screen persona "the Tramp" and is considered one of the most important figures in the history of the film industry.[1] His career spanned more than 75 years, from childhood in the Victorian era until a year before his death at age 88, and encompassed both adulation and controversy. Chaplin's childhood in London was defined by poverty and hardship. As his father was absent and his mother struggled financially, he was sent to a workhouse twice before the age of nine. When he was 14, his mother was committed to a mental asylum. Chaplin began performing at an early age, touring music halls and later working as a stage actor and comedian. Chaplin wrote, directed, produced, edited, starred in, and composed the music for most of his films. Biography Early years (1889–1913) Young performer
