Ursula M. Ruiz Vera Professionally, I am committed in contributing to a better understanding of the effects of climate change on our society with the goal of effectively improving climate change solutions and adaptation strategies. My area of expertise involves the investigation of the impacts of climate change, specifically the increase of elevated CO2 and warming on the productivity of terrestrial ecosystems, such as agricultural areas. Additionally, ways to improve yield in agriculture under future environmental conditions are also a target of my research. Currently, I am a postdoctoral research associate at the Carl R. Woese Institute for Genomic Biology at the University of Illinois, working with the Energy Bioscience Institute and the RIPE (Realizing Increased Photosynthetic Efficiency) project. Personally, I am interested in sensitizing people about the causes and consequences of climate change and about which are the principal factors affecting global food security. Related links:

gvSIG blog | gvSIG project blog Youth - European Voluntary Service - Accredited organisations The project`s main environment is Finland where the course takes place. At first in September the volunteers will all be Helsinki where they will get training from different non-governmental organizations in different fields of global education. In October they will move to cities of Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Oulu and Tampere. The schools they will be teaching in are situated both in these cities and in smaller towns near them. The secondary environment for the project can be said to be the world because our volunteers come from different countries all over the world. The EVS volunteers will implement the global education course in cooperation with a group of teachers who are not EVS volunteers. The volunteers get a chance to learn about the Finnish school system. Our aim is to have a diverse (age, gender, background, education, etc.) group of volunteers from different countries, some from the developing and some from the more developed countries.

para andrea How to Establish a Web Presence as an R User and Why It’s Important | R-bloggers If you are a developer using the R environment to do your programming work, you are probably feeling left out and a bit segregated from the rest of the programming industry. It’s true that not many people know about the R language and what its uses are; however, things have been getting better in the past couple of years as more and more businesses are starting to implement R into their processes. This is the time when you need to start promoting what you do and letting everybody know about your skills. In the past, R was an open-source environment that only developers and enthusiasts knew about, but now you have an opportunity to find jobs in this field, spread the “R network”, and simply make other people aware of it. Given the fact that it’s difficult to find a job in development and programming in a traditional way, you have to focus your efforts online. Simply put, your online presence has become your resume, and this is an especially good opportunity for R developers. Author’s bio:
