Sur la « Prospérité sans croissance » de Tim Jackson On m’a parfois posé la question lors de débats sur mon livre « Adieu à la croissance ». Ce livre défend-il les mêmes idées que celui de Tim Jackson, « Prospérité sans croissance » (De Boeck, 2010) ? Voici en substance ma réponse. Il existe de fortes proximités, et je recommande partout le livre de Jackson, qui a eu une grande influence, y compris pour convaincre des non convaincus de quitter la voie de la croissance. Son livre contient notamment des arguments forts et complémentaires des miens en faveur de cet « adieu à la croissance », sans regret. Mais je m’en écarte plus ou moins sur certains thèmes. Son livre est également un peu trop économiste à mon goût lorsqu’il insiste sur l’importance d’une autre macroéconomie, certes renouvelée pour intégrer les contraintes environnementales, mais où « les variables macroéconomiques fondamentales demeureront pertinentes » (p. 145). Cela m’amène à un autre développement qui me semble conceptuellement « conservateur ».
