Chaîne de JoshuaPursley Spirit of the Hero was created without a crew, just $1,000, two sheets of blue screen, and my friend Tom Strodtbeck. In the short film, Link, a young boy destined for good, is tasked with defending the kingdom of Hyrule against any threat. A malevolent stranger from another realm, known only as The Void Keeper, has mysteriously appeared with a simple goal: destroy Hyrule, banish hope, and consume anyone who stands in defiance. The short film draws visual and narrative inspiration from all Zelda titles and lore. While Link takes a large portion of visual cues directly from The Twilight Princess, The Void Keeper is a uniquely imagined, newly invented villain.
