DIY: Wrap-turned-Scarf

DIY: Wrap-turned-Scarf
This is the most easiest DIY ever! A very fun and simple DIY wrap-turned-scarf project that takes less than a minute to create and requires only one piece of fabric! materials: scissors, measuring tape, and a rectangular piece of fabric (approximately 60 inches long). Step 1: Fold the fabric in half from left to right. Step 2: With the measuring tape, measure six inches down and six inches over from the folded side. Then cut an eight inch vertical slit. Step 3: Open up the fabric and there should be two openings for your arms to go through. That's it!

messy dress tutorial In my opinion, every creative and modern gal needs a messy dress- well maybe not every gal- maybe just me? My 35th birthday is this weekend and there will be celebrating which means I need (or want) something new and funky to wear. Since I am on a fashion budget I decided to transform some cheap cotton dresses I found at Target with a little paint and my new favorite toy- the Tulip Fabric Paint Cannon Before I get started I just have to rave for a minute! Typically I am not "into" the latest and greatest products out there- I not easily impressed and don't like to spend money on trendy supplies. two pocket, ultra slim fabric card case — insatiable need A few weeks ago, I went to Dallas for the wedding of a friend of mine from college, and unsurprisingly, the reception ended up doubling as a mini college reunion. Some of those people I literally hadn’t seen since graduation day. Naturally, the experience got me thinking about the thing I am always thinking about: sewing. (really). I already make a cute little single pocket card case/wallet thing that people love to impulse-buy at craft shows, but occasionally I get asked about one with two pockets, that would fold in half. why 19th street?

Anthro Knock-Off: Scrappy Scarf Necklace Remember this Anthropologie Scarf Necklace from our Monochromatic Challenge? $148 was just a little too much for me to spend (apparently it wasn't too much for others because the necklace has since sold out!) on an accessory, so I attempted to whip up my own version using scrap fabric. Here is what I came up with: Quick fixes: turn long pants into cropped cuties - a tutorial I haven't done a tutorial for a while, but I came across these stretch pants the other day at the back of a drawer. They are made from gorgeous, soft bamboo knit fabric, but I wasn't wearing them because they were just too wide and a touch on the ankle-freezery side. As I was about to put them away again, it suddenly occurred to me that I could refashion them into something more wearable. I like the comfort and style of cropped pants with a ribbed cuff and, now I am taking hop hop classes (!!!)

How to Make your Very Own Cape updated September 16, 2017 Fairies, hobbits, superheroes, villains, queens, princesses and the like all need a cape to complete the outfit. Lucky for you that a cape is easy to make. Sewing Pattern: Unisex Boxer Short Be it a pair of boxer shorts or a pair of sport shorts… it is a perfect gift to celebrate father’s day for this summer! I made this for my hubby. It is from a pattern I copied from his old favorite sport shorts with some modifications on the front pockets. The cutting is perfect, and comfortable to wear too. So, I duplicate it to make another pair for him… may be more in future. Dragon dress: Garden Part 3 PLUS TUTE! Finally. My Dragon dress!!!! I can't say how much I love this dress. I saw the fabric at the fabric store and knew I had to make a dress. I love the shape of the skirt I wore it to a friends memorial because it reminded me of him and it was a huge hit.

DIY Elbow Patch While perusing Pinterest one evening, I came across an intriguing tutorial on the wonderful art of needle felting. I had to learn more – especially after realizing it entailed repeatedly stabbing a needle up and down into a piece of fabric or sweater. A satisfying stress reliever that results in something wearable? Sign me up. And now that I can officially call myself a needle felting maven (and nerd), trust me when I say that you’re going to have a blast with this technique. So grab your supplies and let’s get started on a pair of heart shaped elbow patches! Sweater to Slouchy Hat Tutorial I've been wanting a slouchy hat for a very long time. But.. I don't really do hats. I have short hair, so maybe I remind myself of a man or something. I just really struggle to feel confident in wearing one.

DIY wrap dress tutorial Twist it, drape it, tie it… one dress, countless ways to wear it, and we’re here to show you how to sew it! Portia Lawrie has designed this convertible wrap dress tutorial for a clever multi-style frock that makes party dressing a doddle. Read on to find out how it’s done… the table cloth skirt measure 1"from the top and this is where your zipper top will be. pin your zipper all along (the 6 inches that is left opened) make sure the zipper is facing away from you. and at the bottom of your opening (like 1/4" lower than your opening) place a pin sideways so you can see where you will need to cross over your zipper using a zipper foot, sew down one side (pull pins out as you go) make sure you are sort of close to the inside of your "teeth" of the zipper. when you get to the needle that indicates where the end of your zipper is suppose to be (the blue needle i put sideways), sew over the zipper, back stitch a few times to make sure you make enough of a "barrier" so your zipper will stop. next you want to sew up the other side still close to the zipper. when you get to the top make sure you back stitch. and cut off the extra zipper part on the bottom.
