Fun with Food Friday - Dutch Pancake - Mama Chocolate Welcome to Week 7 of Fun with Food Friday! Check The Not-So-Secret Confessions of a First Time Mom for another recipe review this week! Today I’m sharing another old favorite of mine, (also a favorite of friend and reader Amanda.) I have some great recipes waiting in the wings from you guys, including Mexican Black Bean Burgers and Creamy Turnip soup, and when I do my big monthly shopping trip next week, I’ll be picking up the ingredients I need for those! This is a quick and easy breakfast that’s more nutritious than a bowl of Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs for hurried mornings! We have started using this almost every Sunday morning.

Limoncello Recipe Limoncello While searching for a good recipe for Limoncello, I found a lot of conflicting information. Some recipes use vodka, others use grain alcohol (without specifying the potency, which varies) and others even used rum! The alcohol-to-water-to-sugar ratios also varied widely, and it made me wonder if people had typos in the recipes, or were just posting a recipe they had never even tasted! 20 Calories, 3 Carbs, and It Doesn't Taste Like Ass? No Way! I had a dinner tonight that was uber healthy. It was delicious, and all three of my kids gave it a thumbs up. I’m sure you’re dying to know just how healthy it was, right? Lemon Brownies I am constantly looking for different ways to fuel my rather unhealthy lemon obsession, and since I've already made an elephantine amount of lemon bars (don't worry, there will be more!), I decided to try something new...something kinda-sorta similar to a lemon bar but without the jelly-belly center. Low and behold, I stumbled upon this incantation of a lemon bar/brownie hybrid! They're not quite as lemony as lemon bars, which makes them perfect for silly people who don't like their recipes on the tart side, but they are still lavish enough to pacify citrus-y dessert longings. To paint a better picture, just imagine biting into your favourite brownie, only instead of a rich chocolate flavour, your teeth sink into a chewy, cakey, lemon bar. I'm almost 100% positive that you have everything needed to make a batch, so you have my permission to take a break from sunning & surfing.

Design Crush & Popsicles! Not to sound full of myself, but I’m pretty sure this is the be all, end all of popsicle roundups. There’s a little something for everyone: the foodies, the purists, the ones who prefer frozen yogurt, the ones who prefer a little alcohol, everyone. Tweny-five options to be exact. Time for new treats Thanksgiving is only four days away. Can you believe that? Insanity, I know. October passed by in a hurried flash, and I fear that November has gone by too quickly as well. How to Make Crêpes Without a Crêperie A brief tutorial on how to make crêpes at home, no crêperie required. Just you, your stove and a bit of batter and you’ll have a plate full of thin pancakes in no time at all. I’ve always wanted to live abroad, even if just for a short time.

Mini German Pancakes Here’s a fun breakfast you can make this weekend. My family love German Pancakes (at our house they are called Hootenannies). So when I saw the idea of making mini ones at a site called Gimme Some Oven I had to try them. Her recipe is basically the same as the one I make in my 9 x 13 pan, but you add the butter to the batter instead of the pan. She also adds vanilla and orange zest. I add the vanilla, but didn’t have any orange to zest in my fridge. Perfect Iced Coffee & ~ Mary ~ Aaaahhh summer! We are back in its suffocating grip, when the only thing that brings comfort is something cold. I mostly like the A/C and get fussy when John suggests we go somewhere.

How to Make Peanut Butter S'Mores Turnovers Peanut Butter- S’Mores Turnovers I’m not much of a camper. My husband often takes my son on camping trips, and I happily stay behind and thank the gods for our bug-free house, cozy bed and well-stocked kitchen. I always send them off in comfort… marinate a little meat for them to throw on the grill, pack up some convenience foods and bake a few goodies too. Strawberry Pizza Strawberry Pizza My birthday was last week and I made myself this strawberry pizza as a birthday treat. I can’t be the only one that makes their own birthday treats, right? Mike made me a cake the first year we were married, but ever since then I’ve taken the opportunity to try something new and enjoy the baking experience. Well this year Mike was out of town so it was just me and Zeke and Scamp at home.
