For Educators
Approximately 50 innovative educators from around the world are selected to attend each GTA based on the merits of their online application. Applicants include classroom teachers, curriculum specialists, technology advocates, librarians, administrators, professional trainers, and other education professionals who actively serve the world's primary and secondary teachers and students. Participants are selected based on their professional experience, their passion for teaching and learning, and their successful use of technology in school settings. We are particularly interested in educators who actively provide mentoring or training for other teachers. The GTA is designed to create a strong professional community of educators who support each other over the course of a year. Participants must provide their own travel, and if necessary, their own lodging.

Many feel that that it just isn’t possible because their districts don’t have the money or don’t believe mobile technology is worth investing in. I know how you feel; I have been there. And here’s my advice: stop waiting for the district, and start taking your own steps to make the change in your classroom on your own. When I first began using iPods and iPads in the classroom, it was long before the touch-screen era. I started with a second generation click-wheel iPod with a gray screen and rather limited functions (audio, contacts, and calendars).

There is really a complete sense of influence among teachers towards their students because they are naturally in the authority to impart things. So whether the teacher teaches correct or incorrect things, the students will learn from it. This is but one perilous fact when teachers impart “the wrong” things among their students. But not all cases are actually like this.

Commit to 14 Hours of PD As the summer draws to a close, your calendar is likely packed with Back-to-School events and classroom preparation.
