The Best Web 2.0 Software of 2006 (Dion Hinchcliffe's Web 2.0 Blog)
Its no surprise to us but it was to a NYC night club. They purchased an iPod id scanner after looking at the price and believing that anything related to Apple was cutting edge. The web site claimed it had leading edge technology and that they had the best ID Scanner technology. This same company, new to the id scanner market and really just one person working out of an apartment, continues to claim their technology stops fake ids and is far superior to the existing offerings of other id scanner companies. Well this pretty famous or infamous club in New York City, who had the “old” id scanning machines tried a couple of the new iPod ID Scanners for a week and gave up. They wanted the new system to work but quickly discovered what industry veterans already know.

Creating Passionate Users My Favorite Graphs... and the future This blog has always been about optimism, creating better user experiences, helping users spend more time in flow, and learning. There are 405 posts here. More importantly, there are nearly 10,000 comments from y'all that add so much more to the topics, and from which myself and others have learned a great deal. I don't want the last thing people remember about this blog to be The Bad Things. The most brilliant Web 2.0 things in 2006 About a year ago I started compiling my EVERYTHING 2.0 lists. Doing my earliest research, I got my best input from a few sources that presented their "Best Web 2.0 sites in 2005".In the course of this year I've added little asterisk signs to the sites that struck me as brilliant - either conceptually, or businesswise, or technically, or graphically, or... well... otherwise.Of course these assessments were totally subjective. Sometimes depending on my mood of the day, sometimes on some other whim, sometimes on the fact that the makers/entrepreneurs behind them are my customers and/or friends.Furthermore, I didn't (and don't) have much time left to go back to web sites after assessing them the first time. I am aware that many of them - being in a state of perpetual beta - have been improved considerably, and might deserve one or more *** now. Some of these sites might even not exist anymore ;-!
